The "one" isn't always the one you'll end up with. You never know if you're going to lose them, which is why you have to embrace every single moment you share with them like it's your last day on Earth.

It's cold and twisted, but that's just how life works. You don't get to choose who you encounter and where you'll end up. Instead, every step you take, intentional or unintentional, leads you to where you are now. You move on. You don't get a say in it.

Eventually, things get better. You have a new life; a fresh start. You'll meet someone who makes you feel special all over again. You'll realize that this whole process was meant to happen. It's all a part of destiny; serendipity, if you must.

Sometimes, things happen in life for a specific purpose. You never know what to expect. Simply being able to say you've found the "one", being able to say that you've had the chance to spend moments together that you'll cherish forever; that's what makes someone the luckiest person in the world.

Out of the luckiest people in the world, I came to realize that I am one of them.

After all, I found you, didn't I?

ONE YEAR LATER

"Rosé."

Rosé was awakened by a light shake to her arm, followed by a gentle, masculine voice, whispering her name ever so softly as to not completely disrupt her from her state of serenity and comfort.

Reluctantly, Rosé opened her eyes, blinking slowly as she tried to adjust to her surroundings. Around her was an elegant room draped in shades of red and purple; the colors of royalty.

Standing over her lounging figure stood Lee Taeyong, her fiancé.

Rosé closed her eyes again, pushing herself further back into the mattress.

She didn't understand how Taeyong had the willpower to awaken from his slumber so early in the day. He was finished with his studies and had a few courses now and then, but other than that, there was no reason for him to be up and at it at five in the morning every single day.

"How are you awake at this time?" Rosé grumbled, staring at the ungodly number on the clock next to their bed. "It's 5AM."

Taeyong laughed. "Aren't you forgetting something, Rosé?"

Rosé's eyebrows shot up as she recalled the date.

Her wedding with Taeyong was today.

"Right, of course," Rosé laughed, sitting up on the mattress. "How could I forget?"

"I'm going to take care of some errands," Taeyong said, grabbing his coat. "I'll see you at the ceremony."

"See you then."

Rosé smiled as Taeyong leaned down to kiss her on the cheek. She watched as he left the room, her mind swarmed with thoughts of the awaited day.

It had been a year since she and Jaehyun parted ways. A year since the chaos amongst the palace finally settled down.

A year since Taeyong had confessed his love for her.

It had taken some time for Rosé to come to terms with this. She was baffled at first, obviously; she hadn't been able to see Taeyong with anyone other than Jennie for their entire lives. Additionally, the two of them had been good friends since childhood. It seemed strange to disturb the balance they had.
