Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if we simply hadn't fallen in love. Things would be so much easier, wouldn't they? Everyone would be happy, maybe even us.
Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if we'd escaped the troubles. Maybe we'd be alone. Together. Forever.
Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if I told you to stay.
I couldn't exactly have kept you from living your dreams though, could I?
"Remind me again why we're doing this."
"Why wouldn't we be?" Jennie questioned Rosé, a slight lilt distinguishable in her voice as she smiled mischievously at the younger. "The castle is most fascinating during night hours— sorry, where have you been the last nineteen years of your life?"
"Sorry," Rosé narrowed her eyes jokingly, "but I don't have as many tendencies to sneak out during nighttime like you and Taeyong. Who knows what crazy things you do when the lights are out."
"I can name several," Jennie's smile quickly disappeared as she opened Rosé's bedroom door, carefully checking the corridors. "The coast is clear— let's go."
"And who else is up for this ridiculous plan?" Rosé whispered as she allowed herself to be dragged along by Jennie.
"The usual people," Jennie somehow managed to shrug as she moved quickly along the hallways. "Me, Taeyong, you, Jaehyun, Lisa, Ten, Jisoo, Yuta-"
"That's the 'usual people'?" Rosé stared at Jennie.
"Of course," Jennie responded. "You know, the Fantastic Four couples, the Excellent Eight-"
"This was never a thing."
"It is now." Jennie grinned. "Come on, they're all waiting for us outside!"
"And why was I the last to know about this?" Rosé frowned at her best friend, who shot her a sheepish smile.
"Just in case I couldn't talk you into coming," Jennie responded. "You do tend to stay holed up in your room all the time anyway."
"Because I can't afford to be caught by anyone!" Rosé protested. "This is risky. You know how upset my parents would get if they found out I was sneaking out— especially if it was to see Jaehyun."
"Well now you have an excuse," Jennie smiled cutely. "If they do happen to catch us-"
"And you won't let that happen."
"-then we'll tell them that we were all meeting up," Jennie continued, ignoring Rosé's remark. "We are still young, after all— we need some time with each other past curfew."
"Fine," Rosé sighed. "I'd better not regret going with you."
"You won't," Jennie assured her. "Promise."
"I've got an idea," Ten announced, his voice disappearing into the air as he secured his arm around Lisa. "Hide and seek."
