XII ♕ MISTAKES

a/n: shield your eyes kiddos, because I felt like making this chapter kinda sorta s t e a m y so grab your holy water and continue reading if you wanna :))))))))) (I'm actually cringing at what I wrote and I refuse to proofread it)

I got jealous easily; we both did, in fact. Those days that we fought, however; they were never worth it. They were never worth costing our flawed relationship.

I'd always fantasized being in a "perfect" relationship, and it took years until I realized that no relationship was as amazing as someone could imagine it to be.

Despite the many hardships we went through, I'm so thankful to have been with you. I wouldn't have traded our love for anything, not even the most "perfect" of all relationships. Why?

"Perfect" doesn't exist.

  

"She knows."

"What?" Jaehyun exclaimed as he stared at Rosé incredulously. "What do you mean by 'she knows'?"

"It means what I said." Rosé stated, clenching her jaw. "Yerim knows about us."

Jaehyun tried his best to keep his face from falling upon hearing the news. He looked away from Rosé, trying to comprehend what exactly was going on.

"How did she react?" Jaehyun asked her. "I mean, did she get mad?"

Rosé shook her head defeatedly. "I don't know, Jaehyun; but she was definitely upset, and clearly hurt as well. I'm not sure about what we should do at this point."

"Well-"

"You should talk to her, actually." Rosé said, her voice lacking emotion. "That's our best bet at this point."

"Me?" Jaehyun said skeptically, pointing at himself. "Why me?"

"Because she's in love with you, Jaehyun." Rosé strained her voice as she spoke. "I can't be the one to explain everything to her. It has to be you."

"I- I don't know if I can do that, Chae." Jaehyun whispered. "I don't know if I can let her down like that."

Rosé sighed. "You have to, Jaehyun. It's our only hope; if we both avoid her, her chances of slipping up and exposing us are much more likely."

Jaehyun exhaled deeply, a feeling of dread taking over as he closed his eyes.

"Fine. I'll talk to her."



Jaehyun walked down the hall, nervously running his fingers through his hair. He felt like he was slowly slipping from reality; what had once felt like a fantasy was now turning into a nightmare.

As Jaehyun walks - hoping he'll coincidentally bump into Yerim at some point - he begins to think; how had things changed for him ever since he'd come back to Korea from America?

The Pros: He'd reunited with his friends and made new ones; not to mention the fact that he'd somehow fallen in love with one of his best friends from his younger life. Chaeyoung - now Rosé - truly meant the world to him, and he loved her with all that he had.
