Everyone's first kiss is different. Some people describe it as fireworks exploding from within their bodies and splashing the sky with colors of neon. Others describe it as their world fading into nothing; an elegant feeling.
When we kissed, I felt my dreams and sweet desolation melt to a wisp. All of my impractical desires and bitter heartaches fell away as a fiery rose slowly bloomed into it's perpetual essence; awakening the deepest secrets within me that had previously slept for eternity.
That kiss made me realize just how much I'd fallen for you.
"Wake up, Rosie. It's two in the afternoon."
Rosé grumbled in slight annoyance, the sheets muffling her voice. "Not now, Jennie."
"You have a huge dinner to go to in three hours, Rosé." Jennie scolded her. "Unless you want me to physically yank you out of your sheets, I suggest you get up now."
Rosé rolled over onto her back, closing her eyes tightly due to the intensity of the sunlight seeping into the room.
"Since when do you make the rules, Jen?" Rosé complained.
"Ever since you crashed into my room at three in the morning and smiled like an idiot for two hours before proceeding to tell me about your long-ass night." Jennie responded matter-of-factly. "With the amount of time you were gone, I was surprised the two of you didn't-"
"Stop!" Rosé groaned. "I know what you're about to say; just stop."
"I'll stop when I want to stop." Jennie said. "Now get up and get dressed; you have a meeting to attend with Taeyong before you head off to dinner."
"Why do I have to go to this stupid dinner anyway?" Rosé groaned. "I already have enough on my shoulders."
Jennie sighed rather heavily, looking pointedly at Rosé with a bored expression spread across her face.
"Jaehyun's going to be there."
"I'm up." Rosé said, quickly climbing out of her sheets before rushing over to the bathroom.
Amidst the chaos and sounds of fumbling through the bathroom drawers, Jennie merely shook her head, smiling.
"She's completely lovestruck." She thought to herself before following Rosé.
"You look lovely, Rosé." Taeyong complimented, smiling politely as soon as Rosé arrived at the bottom of the staircase.
"Thanks, you don't look so bad yourself." Rosé responded, returning his smile timidly. She was still unsure of how Taeyong had responded to the news of her and Jaehyun; she wasn't even sure if Jennie had told him, in fact. The older girl hadn't mentioned anything about talking to Taeyong last night, and Rosé - being completely delirious back then after having spent the evening with Jaehyun - had never thought to question her about it.
"Did you see Jennie last night?" Rosé asked hesitantly, slyly attempting to bring up the topic with Taeyong.
"Oh, uh- yeah, I did." Taeyong said, lowering his voice. "She told me about you and Jaehyun, if that's what you were wondering."
"Really?" Rosé exclaimed, pretending to be surprised and failing miserably. She felt ashamed for asking another person to break the news to her fiancé, even though Taeyong probably wouldn't have minded either way.
