We were a strange love, the two of us.
Too wild to last, too rare to break.

Jennie was always different. She didn't desire love like her other friends, nor was she repulsed by the idea.

Instead, Jennie allowed life to pull her by the strings, taking her to wherever she was destined to be.

Five-year-old Jennie wandered aimlessly amongst the strawberry fields, alone and carefree.

Her friends were all back at the palace — Chaeyoung, Lisa, and Jisoo — as their mothers dressed themselves in fancy attire. There was a party tonight, planned specifically for Jennie herself. She was sure that her mother was stomping her foot in their palace bedroom, telepathically demanding for Jennie to come back that instant.

Jennie couldn't do that, however. Once she was lost in her own world, there was no way to capture her attention.

For a moment, Jennie closed her eyes, feeling the light breeze brush up against her face as small green leaves swirled by. Right now, nature was good to her.

Or not.

In a flash, Jennie had collided with an unknown force, knocking her off of her feet and earning a strained groan from both herself and the figure whom she had collided with. Her forehead screamed in pain as she rubbed the invisible bruise, sure to form within the next few minutes.

"Watch where you're going!" Jennie cried out as she brushed her hair out of her face, glaring at the person in front of her.

So. The unknown force was a boy. By the looks of it, he was around the same age as Jennie— maybe a year older or so. His hair was dark-brown and his features were strikingly sharp for such a young child.

"Watch where you're going," the boy retorted. "At least the sun wasn't blinding you."

"Yeah, but my eyes were closed."

"Who even walks with their eyes closed?"

"I do!"

"Whatever." The boy said, standing up and brushing the dirt off of his pants. "I have a stupid party to go to, anyway."

"That's my party you're talking about," Jennie retaliated as she narrowed her eyes at the boy. "And it is not stupid! You take that back!"

"Make me!"

"I'm telling on you!"

"I'd like to see you try !"

Jennie groaned in frustration, swiping angrily at the stray hairs that blocked her vision.

"Don't come to my party then, Unknown," Jennie insisted. "Or I'll scream if I see you."
