Sometimes, things happen in life for a specific purpose. You may not know how or why, but these occurrences will eventually lead you to where you're destined to be.

The world is a mysterious place. Billions of people from different locations connect with each other, creating new relationships from arbitrary coincidences.

Out of those billions of people, you're bound to find the one person who just gets you; the one person who can make you smile for absolutely no reason, the one person who can forgive you for all of your flaws, the one person who you're so in love with and you have no idea why.

If you've found your "one", you're very lucky.

Rosé quickly pulled away from Taeyong and stared at him, eyes widening as her jaw dropped to the floor.

"What?" Taeyong furrowed his brows.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" Rosé whispered furiously, her shock slowly being replaced by rage.

"I'm doing what I'm supposed to do," Taeyong responded, his voice too nonchalant for such a chaotic situation. "I'm acting on my feelings. I'm telling you I love you."

"Taeyong—" Rosé sighed, letting out a swift laugh of incredulity. "You don't love me. Not in that way."

"You don't know that," Taeyong responded, and Rosé could tell he was getting frustrated. "We've been together for a while now, and even though we made it strictly platonic I learned more and more about you every day!"

Rosé frowned, remaining silent.

"We've been through the same shit, Chae," Taeyong continued. "Having to hide, covering for each other, sharing our feelings — I didn't mean to fall in love with you. It just happened."

"But you were with Jennie the entire time," Rosé spoke cautiously, refusing to believe a word of this entire conversation.

"I was, and I did love her," Taeyong said earnestly. "But it just wasn't meant to be. It was too hard for us. We can't spend the rest of our lives hiding away. It put too much stress on us and we've been arguing a lot lately, and I just — I don't know. I don't feel the same way about her."

Rosé shook her head in disgust, rising from her bed.

"Out of all of the years I've known you, Taeyong," she glared at him furiously, "I never would've thought you'd stoop this low."

With that, Rosé walked out of the room, slamming the door behind her.

"Jaehyun, just listen to me—"

"I won't!" Jaehyun nearly shouted as he turned to face his father.

"I'm not going back to America and I'm not going to be engaged to Yerim. I won't."

"You can't stay here and mount yourself to the floor, Jaehyun," his father said exasperatedly. "Rosé's parents are furious — they'd never let you stay. They insist on keeping Taeyong in their family line."

"I don't care," Jaehyun said. "I'm not leaving without her. I love her."

Jaehyun's father went silent, allowing Jaehyun to continue to speak.
