At the sound of her snake life Voice, a vein in my brain begun beating. A mixture of both fear and angry roamed my body. But I decided on not acting on it. After seeing that I'm ignoring her, she grew furious and took several intimidating steps towards me. My heart skipped a beat as I anticipate what her next move is. Susan's arms looped its way through my arms as the boys simultaneously stood protectively in front of us. Emma's eyes snaked from both susan and my hands to the boys in front of us. Her face dropped as she step back. Her eyes lingering on Alexander.
"I'll get you back for everything you've taken from me nerd fart. I promise you that" with that she walked away. Her wannabe Barbie's following behind her looking like a bunch of somethings that rhymes with witches.
I mentally thank 'the three. I've never had friends before but even if one day they might turn on me. I'll risk it. I'll hold onto them as long as possible. And given as I'm giving them a chance, maybe I should give that Monica girl a chance too. She seems nice. We walked to class together getting weird stares from everyone. It was attention I didn't want so to limit it down, I tried walking faster than them. I took a seat in the middle of the class before they arrived. All the chairs around me were occupied leaving no place for them to sit.
They entered the class and reluctantly took chairs elsewhere. Feeling justified I began taking out my books when I heard the familiar sound of chairs being moved. I looked up to see everyone that was around me drew their desk away putting distance between me and then. I was now the only person in the middle of the class. I should have known better than to sit next to people. Embarrassed I looked down into my book not wanting to meet the eyes of the three.
The sound of a chair pulling up beside me distract me from listening to the teacher. Glad I beamed next to me. I thought it was one of the three by sadly it wasn't. It was Monica. A slight pang of disappointment pinched at my heart strings. Averting my eyes I stared ahead meeting the glaring eyes of susan and the worried faces of the boys.
"You know she's a fake friend right" Monica said.
"Huh" I turned to he confused.
"She's only talking to you because of Asher, you know that right." Monica explained returning Susan's glare.
"I don't get it. Why would she talk to me because of him" I asked.
"For a smart girl, your kinda dumb. But I guess its fitting." She let out a low humorless chuckle.
"Huh"
She rolled her eyes adding
"She likes Asher dummy" she then gestured for me to look at susan and I did. She was now glaring at a very distracted Asher. Asher wasn't paying attention to her. Instead his focus was elsewhere.
"Okay so what does her liking Asher have to do with me?" I asked not really getting her point.
"Your too innocent for your own good. Look at Asher. Look closely" she gestured once again.
And so I did as told. I followed Asher's gaze. It led to me. A small boyish smile playing on his lips. I tilted my head to the side and stared at him. When he realized I notice him staring at me, he blushed scarlet. Then he quickly averted his eyes and turned around. So I was left looking at the back of his head. His ears and neck was visible due to his low cut hair. They were now turning red. He turned his head again with a second glance he quickly stared ahead. Susan eyes and the corners of her mouth begun twitching. Then it struck me like lightening.
