Somehow it seemed cooler by the shore than out in the ocean. Maybe it was from the occasional shade that the palm trees you passed beneath brought, or maybe there were more clouds in the sky. Either way, you were thankful. You had your hoodie tied around your waist, and you were quite a bit ahead of Murdoc. You were acting like you knew what to do, but admittedly, you didn't. You had never been stranded on an island before, so there's no reason you would know what to do. The sun was high in the sky, which you were thankful about, because that meant you still had some hours of sun light left. You stopped in your tracks, Murdoc coming up behind you and stopping at your side. You squinted and bit your bottom lip, trying to determine what it was you saw so far off in the distance. "Looks like, a road?" You were incredibly confused. The two of you hadn't been walking for all that long, and it seemed very odd to have a road so close to a seemingly abandoned beach. "It's still pretty far off, but we should be able to make it before night." You declared. You looked over at Murdoc, and he looked back to you. "Are ya sure you don't wanna take a break?" You thought about it for a minute and then shook your head. "We really should keep going." Murdoc groaned and rolled his shoulders. "Aight aight. But, we're gettin drinks as soon as we can." You chuckled softly and nodded, picking up pace again. "Alright, Muddz."

Eventually the two of you did make it to a road. Although it wasn't busy, an occasional car would make it's way down. The sun was close to setting, and you didn't feel all too comfortable roaming the streets of a country you had never been to. "Murdoc, do you wanna hitch hike?" You looked to him and cocked a brow. He shoved his hands into his pockets and shrugged. "If we do, they're takin' us to a bar or a pub." You sucked your teeth and stuck out your thumb. "That's fine by me." Murdoc swung the guitar around and shook it. He looked inside and chuckled loudly, a smile finding it's way onto his sun burnt face. "Great! The money is still in 'ere." You let out a sigh of relief, although you werent nervous in the first place. But once he pointed out that there was still money, you realized maybe the two of you wouldn't have to steal for a while. The two of you stood in silence on the edge of the road as darkness crept upon you, your thumb out and high in the sky.

After what seemed like about ten minutes, a car slowed down in front of the two of you. The passenger side window rolled down, and a hand holding a cigarette between two fingers came out. "Hop in," mumbled the man driving, while the man in the passenger seat kept his lips glued shit. "I... thank you!" You chirped, opening up the back seat door and climbing in. The car reeked of pot, but it wasn't all that dirty. Just some empty chip bags and water bottles in the back. You slid over to sit behind the drivers seat and Murdoc followed you in. The driver turned on the radio low, rock music playing softly in the back. "Don't worry," he began, shifting the car back into drive. "I'm not high. But Carson is." The man in the passenger seat, Carson, laughed and took a puff off his cigarette. "Smoke a cig and it covers the weed!" He exclaimed. "I'm Darren. How long have you two been out there?" He seemed sweet. His skin was caramel colored and his hair was light brown. He had beautiful hazel eyes and a nicely structured face. His hair swept up and flopped back, and he had a smal scar beneath his right eye. "Nice to meet you two, that over there is Muddz. And I'm (y/n). And we've been there for... uh..." You couldn't tell them that you and Murdoc had just crossed the border. You glanced to Murdoc, but he was looking the other way out the window. You scrunched your nose and cleared your throat. "Maybe a day or two." Darren sighed. "That sucks. You two headed anywhere specific?" You shrugged "Not re-"

"Nearest pub or bar." Murdoc interrupted. Darren turned the radio up a bit more and chuckled. "Alright man. I'll have to drive into town for that. Good thing I'm headed down there anyway." You leaned over and looked out of the windshield, placing your elbow on the back of Darrens seat. "So," Carson said, turning to face you. He was pale and covered in freckles. He had strawberry blonde hair and greyish blue eyes that were incredibly blood shot. "You guys british?" You nodded and smiled warmly. "We are, actually. The accents give it away?" He snorted and turned back around. "Yuh," he grunted. Darren seemed to be much more friendly, you decided. "So... you guys from around here?" Darren raised his eyebrows and nodded. "Yeah! Been in Florida our whole lives. We've known each other for a hella long time, man." You nodded and sat back in your seat. Florida, you thought. You needed a map to be sure of where that was. "We're not too far from town. You guys staying in a hotel?" Darren asked, getting off at an exit. "Yah, we are." Murdoc responded, still looking out of the window. He seemed weird, but you chose to ignore it. "Do you two want to come in for a drink with us?" You decided it was only sweet of you to invite them for picking you up. The men nodded and chuckled. "Sure, (y/n). Sounds nice." Darren glanced back at you, his cheeks dusted with rosy pink. You raised your eyebrows and looked down at your knees. You recognized that look all too well.

Once at the bar, Darren pulled in to the parking lot and parked near the front. The parking lot was huge, so compared to the number of parking spaces, it didn't seem too full.

Your opinion on that matter changed once the four of you walked through the doors.
