Hey guys! Freya here, just wanted to say thanks for all the support everyone's been giving, this story turned out better than I had expected. This chapter is short, but please be patient with me! Longer ones are coming!
Xoxo,
Freya
Chapter 12
I moved out of Chrissy's house. I couldn't depend on her more than I needed to. It just didn't seem fair that she had to take care of me, pay for my meals (along with Ella's) and run the farm all at the same time. So I moved out.
Colton bought us a house close to my parents. I wanted it there as motivation to tell them who I was. It worked quite well, actually, because when I was on my daily walk, I crossed paths with their house. That's when I decided it was time.
I knocked on the door with major anxiety. I was afraid that they'd shoo me away thinking I was playing some sort of horrible joke on them. That didn't happen, though. My Mother let me in so I could tell my side of the story. I didn't miss a detail when I told them about all I've been through. The whole time, she didn't move a muscle. She was glued to her chair and didn't move for a second until I was done talking. I think she was in shock that her long lost daughter had been living around the corner.
When I was done talking, she pulled me into her arms tight. "This isn't right! We'll get justice!" she tried to comfort me. I shook my head and explained how I couldn't do that to the father of my child. She understood that, and respected it, even though she didn't agree.
When Ella met her Grandmother, there was an unspeakable connection. It was like they knew who each other were before the introduction. Ella wrapped her arms around her Grandma and just cried. She kept apologizing for not coming to see her before. It was strange. A connection from the heart, it seemed.
And there was Colton. My fiancée. It had been a year since we reunited that he proposed. It was one day before I announced my pregnancy. My life had been slowly rebuilding itself piece by piece until I felt complete again.
There is only one thing I wasn't sure of. That was where Brayden had gone. Was he dead? Where did he go? Colton went over to his house one day, and there was a letter on his door saying that he wasn't coming back.
I couldn't concentrate on that, though, I have a baby coming in less than a month and I've got to be strong for it. My life is perfect...I hope it never changes.
Ella was the most beautiful child ever. She would be a big sister, a chance to learn how to interact well with other children. That's what she needed, and she couldn't spend anymore more time being alone.
