Easy Fruit Recipes
Breakfast or afternoon snack, Lunch or Dessert
Cut Canteloupe in 3 quarters and scoop out seeds. Stuff the center of one quarter with 1/2 cup blueberries and 1/2 cup strawberries. Top with a dollop of light vanilla yogurt.
Mix 1/2 cup of applesauce with 1/4 cup low-fat ricotta cheese and sprinkle with delivered almonds
Players parfait glass with sliced peaches, strawberries, light vanilla yogurt, bananas and Raisin's. Top with delivered almonds.
Instead of having a bowl of cereal with fair on top, have a bowl of fruit with cereal on top. ( confusing I know)
Have a bowl of sliced strawberries and bananas topped with light yogurt.
My way: Slice and Dice the Apple and banana.
Scoop out 1 spoonful of frozen blueberries
Heat up granola in a ice cream bowl
Put the fruit in a small bowl and put the heated granola on top
Snack on raisins before practice or try outs or grapes. Or what ever you have for a snack as long as it keeps you energized.
When at home: make fruit kebabs with pineapple, banana or strawberries
Dip cupped watermelon, cantaloupe and strawberries In To yogurt or cottage cheese.
Snack plate:
3 tbsp hummus
1 oz. Sliced Turkey ( two pieces)
1/2 cup sliced cucumbers
1/2 sliced Apple
Mix ingredients and eat
Summery Rice Salad
2 cups instant brown rice, dry
2 cups veggie broth
1 tbsp olive oil
1 small onion diced again still optional
1 small zucchini
One 8-oz. Packaged mushrooms
2 carrots, unlicensed
2 tsp. Lemon juice and salt and pepper still optional
Heat olive oil in skillet. Add vegetables, saute for 3 min. Add rice then cook on medium for 5 min. Switch to low heat and cook until rice is heated. Add lemon juice and salt and pepper then chill for 3 min. Serve cold cheerleaders
Power shake (this is good for breakfast or before try outs or practice)
8 oz. Skim Milk
1 sliced banana
1/4 cup ice
2 tbsp Peanutt butter
Toss into blender and puree for one min. Until creamy
Chicken and cheese quesadillas
2 whole grain tortilla
4 oz. Baked or grilled skinless chicken
1 cup salsa
1/3 cup corn
1/3 cup bell peppers,chopped
3/4 cup low-fat cheese
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Add chicken, corn, bell peppers, and cheese to the top of tortilla.
Set the other tortilla on top of the ingredients, and bake for 15 min. Cup into quarters and scour cream and salsa.
