Little skinks? They were very small, slick, and colorful. Salamanders, but not as slimy. Bright yellow, red, or a combination of colors like black and tan striped with a white head. They live in water, like fish. So I guess they were amphibians. But their homes were made from collected dewdrops and rainwater in the grass. The taller grass that grew in bunches to make a little cavern of water inside. It was like a nature cup. And the lizards swam around in the little homes of water.
