Twelve Years Old ❣︎ October

"Halloween is her favorite holiday." Jughead frowns before kicking his feet up on one of Pop's booths and reaching for his sweet addiction, a strawberry milkshake.

It's been 3 months since Jelly Bean and his mom left, and Jughead is still hurting.

"I'm sure she's fine Juggy, and I'm sure she wouldn't want you being sad over her all the time. That kid is tough, like you." Archie shrugs before grabbing his bottle of water and drowning it, making Jughead roll his eyes in disgust.

"Who goes to a restaurant where they serve the greatest food and milkshakes in the world, and orders a bottle of water." Jughead scoffs.

"Football season, have to stay healthy."

Jughead just nods his head and goes back to sulking, causing Archie to frown. He understands why the darker hue is so upset, but he doesn't like seeing him this way. It hurts too much.

"Maybe you need a girlfriend or something?" Archie sighs, mentally face palming at that stupid suggestion. It's something Reggie has said to him before, so he figured it's worth a shot.

"Ew, why?" The raven haired boy asks, wrinkling his nose up in disgust.

A feeling of hopefulness bubbles up in the redhead's stomach at his friend's response. Could it mean? No... maybe?

"Boyfriend?" Archie asks more tentatively.

"Again, ew why?"

Welp, Jughead just burst his bubble.

"What's so disgusting about having a girlfriend or a boyfriend?" Archie chuckles, trying to cover up his disappointment.

"Nothing I guess. I just don't want one, I don't even like anybody." Jughead shrugs before taking a sip of his milkshake.

Pop! There goes another bubble.

"Well, too bad, because you need cheering up."

"How is a stupid middle school relationship supposed to cheer me-"

"Oh look! There's Betty! Perfect timing!"

Betty snaps her head over to Archie's voice when hearing her name, a smile immediately brightening up her Appearance when her eyes lay their sight on the raven haired beauty sitting in front of them. The blonde hue happily makes her way over to their booth, forcing Jughead to take his feet off of the seat with a groan so she can sit down.

"Hey guys, what're you up to?"

"We were just talking about you actually." Archie lies with a smile, causing Jughead to shoot lasers with his eyes at the redhead.

"Oh really?"

"Yeah, Jughead actually wants to ask you something, but he's a little shy so he told me to do it for him."

"No I- mmph"

Jughead is interrupted with a sharp kick to the shins, courtesy of Archie.

"What is it he wants to ask me?" Betty smiles excitedly, having a strong inkling about what this is about.

"He wants to know if you'll be his girlfriend."

I understand if y'all wanna hate me for this but I literally told y'all this was going to happen MANY TIMES.

Also we literally just hit 12k and I didn't even think I was going to make 1k. A while back I even said my goals was 10k for the whole book, but we're not even half way yet. So thanks so much gosh. I'll do something special if we hit 20k?? That's a high goal but might as well dream big ig.

I'm other news I failed my Ap exam and I feel like absolute shit but yk.
