Twenty Three Years Old ❣︎ October
"Hey, I've been wanting to ask you something for a while now. It's really important." Archie says nervously as he makes his way towards their bedroom door where Jughead is spinning around in the swivel chair reading a book. When the words connect to his brain, Jughead immediately stops and tries to hide the nervous expression in his face.
In all honesty, the first thing that came to mind was marriage. I mean, they're almost 24 and they've been together for 6 years, known each other since they were 4. Their dad's are pretty surprised they haven't tied the knot yet, and so are all their friends. What even is taking so long?
Granted Jughead just started his writing career and Is busy with his sequel, but that's nothing a marriage would interrupt. They don't even have to have a wedding, they can just go get a license...
Does Archie not want to marry him?
Jughead could pop the question first, but despite wanting to be marry to the redhead, he still has his doubts. Maybe Archie just doesn't want to be married yet, I mean it's just a title and it wouldn't change much so maybe Archie just doesn't care. It might not have anything to do with Jughead at all, although that insecure voice in the back of his mind is telling him it does. Or maybe Archie is just waiting for him to ask? To be honest, Jughead wants to married to the redhead because it's comforting knowing that he'll actually be his, bound in law. It's the principle of it all. That still doesn't mean Archie wouldn't leave him though.
And that's his biggest fear or all.
He basically has abandonment issues, and he knows this, but he doesn't think he needs help with them.
Not yet anyways.
He should know that Archie wouldn't leave him, but I mean look at his parents? It's a totally different scenario but they're split apart and they didn't even get a divorce.
What if that happens to them?
"What's up?" The raven haired beauty asks as nonchalantly as he can.
Archie smiles before sitting on their bed and watching Jughead with admiration.
"Oh my gosh you have that look on your face again." Jughead groans while blushing and trying to hide his face with his book.
"Sorry, you're just really really amazing and beautiful." Archie says cheekily.
"You tell me that everyday." Jughead giggles.
"I'll stop on February 30th." Archie promises, causing Jughead to roll his eyes.
"There is no February 30th."
"Exactly."
Jughead just laughs before getting off of the chair and sitting on Archie's lap instead.
"What'd you want to ask me?"
Archie bites his lip before deciding to just blurt it out.
"Would you want to raise a child with me?"
Jughead's eyes widen and search his boyfriend's face for any sign that this is a joke.
