Seventeen Years Old ❣︎ February
"It's okay baby, I'm here now." Jughead promises while running his fingers though his hair gently as his boyfriend continues to cry into his chest on the kitchen floor.
"Th-this shouldn't h-hurt s-so much." He chokes out in between sobs before wrapping his arms around the raven haired beauty tighter.
"She's your mom, Archie. Of course it's going to hurt."
"I d-don't even r-remember her."
Mrs. Andrews died today in a work related accident along with two other coworkers. Her face is plastered all over the news, and Archie hasn't done anything but cry for the last two hours. He got the phone call from his dad and completely blanked out, immediately running to Jughead's house despite him being at school. Mr. Andrews was able to call and get Jughead out of school, who immediately rushed home to find his boyfriend crying on the kitchen floor.
It's been a crazy day to say the least.
"I remember her a little bit."
"Y-you do?"
"I remember that she made the best lasagna." He laughs slightly. "She was nice, even though she said mean things to you sometimes."
"I r-remember the b-bad things like when she c-called me st-stupid and announced the d-divorce. "
"Let's not think about that."
"That's a-all she g-gave me to think a-about because she l-left! And n-now she's g-gone for real! She'll n-never see me get into c-college or s-see us together and I'll n-never be able t-to get closure b-because she's dead!"
"Arch..." the darker hue breathes out, not knowing what else to say as the sound of his boyfriends crying continues to fill the space around them.
Archie lost his mom.

"Look, I can't make you go to the funeral but maybe this is what you need." The raven haired beauty says softly, his voice filled with honey and molasses, causing the redhead to smile at the sound of it.
"I don't want to see her so still." He says hoarsely, due to the absence of his voice for a few days.
"Hey, there's that beautiful voice of yours." Jughead smiles while taking his boyfriend's gelid hands into his.
"I'm sorry for being a bother the past few days." Archie apologizes, his sorrowful eyes flickering up to meet Jughead's concerned ones.
"You're not a bother at all. I like having you here everyday, I like taking care of you, I love you." Jughead promises as Archie nods hesitantly.
It's been two days since his mother's death and he's been sleeping over at Jughead's ever since. Part of him feels guilty though, because her death probably affected his dad a lot more and they're supposed to be in this together, but he just can't do it. The funeral is today and he doesn't think he can do that either.
It's not that her death itself hurts. It's sad, heartbreaking really but most of his tears shed weren't because of her actual death. They were shed because he barely knew her. His own mother is dead and he doesn't even know what her favorite color was, when her birthday is, what she smelled like, what kind of music she liked. He cried because although she was never there for him, it was nice to know that she was physically there, even if it wasn't in his life. He cried because she'll never be able to see the man he'll become, and he'll never be able to prove her wrong.
