"My dad wants to see me today." Jughead blurts out quickly.

"Wait, what?"

"Yeah that's all so I'll see you-"

"Jughead..."

Jughead reluctantly turns back around and stares at Archie with a pout. He knew he wasn't going to get away with blurting it out and leaving, but it was worth a shot. He also knew he wasn't going to get away with sneaking around so the truth seemed like the best option.

"I'm just going to go see him, okay? I just want to see if he's actually doing better and if he's actually changed. It doesn't mean I'm staying over there."

"But I really don't want you to go alone."

"I can take care of myself, Arch."

"Yeah, because you took care of yourself so well the last time when he was hurting you!" The scarlet hue spits, causing the darker hue to frown.

"Well, that hurt." Jughead sighs sadly before beginning to walk away.

"Juggy, I'm-"

"Don't." He calls back out, continuing down the hallway that, of course, Reggie just happens to be lingering in.

Great job.

Archie can admit that there were a 100 million ways he could have said that better, but the idea of something happening to Jughead just makes him upset and angry and he can't bear to see him like that again.

The boy has too much hope, and it keeps on being taken away from him. Archie just wants to prevent that.

He wants to protect him, but Jughead won't let him.

He sighs before closing his locker, just in time for his girlfriend (Maybe?) to pop up out of nowhere like she's always seems to do.

"Hey, what are you doing later?"

Thinking about Jughead, worrying about Jughead, wishing he was with me instead of with his dad.

"Nothing, why?"

"I want to do something with you, we barely spend time together anymore."

"That's because you kind of ignored me all summer and then broke up with me when school started."

"Why did I ever do that?"

"Maybe it's because you would have rather kiss one of the other guys on my football team?"

"You're calling me a slut?"

"I never said that. I saw you kiss someone else on the football team when you were supposed to be dating me. That doesn't make you a slut, it just means you cheated."

"So then if I cheated then why didn't you just break up with me?"

"You'd have to answer my calls or texts for me to do that."
