Twenty Six Years Old ❣︎ July

Anyone who makes an inappropriate comment about Reina's relationship with her parents is getting blocked. No mercy. I swear if I get any comments referring to the sexualization of certain words, I'm done. Goodbye. Seriously. Stop it. Drink some holy water. Drown in it.

"You ready?" Archie whispers into Reina's ear as she stands outside of the orphanage, an unreadable expression on her face.

"I'm ready." She smiles before kissing her hand and placing it gently on the building. The redhead chuckles and offers his hand which she excitedly holds onto as the two make their way to the car where Jughead is putting some of her belongings in. "I can't believe it took y'all three months to get me. Every week you'd come in, getting me excited, but I still wasn't allowed to leave with you." She huffs playfully.

"It's not our fault. I blame the government." Jughead mumbles under his breath. "I kinda thought that adoption was like in those fanfics you read where you go to an adoption agency and you just get the kid and take them with you. it's actually a whole stressful process." He sighs after closing the trunk. "But it was worth it." He smiles before opening his arms, which Reina jumps into happily.

"I'm so happy." She mumbles into his chest, breathing a scent that has become familiar to her during the last few months. Would it be wrong of her to say that it was love at first sight?

Archie and Jughead felt the same way.

"I already feel like he's your favorite." Archie rolls his eyes.

"Don't be jealous, daddy!" Reina sticks her tongue out after pulling away from Jughead. Archie's eyes light up and his mouth opens slightly from shock as Reina frowns a bit. "Sorry, I just wanted to see how it sounded. I won't do it again."

"No, no I was surprised. Really happily surprised, but I just didn't expect it." Archie blushes, smiling widely which makes Jughead chuckle.

"Well you're my parents now, right? So why would it surprise you?" She deadpans. Archie and Jughead exchange a look before shaking their heads and leading her inside of the backseat of the car. Jughead gives the driver directions as Reina holds onto Archie's hand tightly and practically bounces up and down in her seat. "Archie is going to be daddy and you're going to be dad so it doesn't get confusing." She giggles towards Jughead who just smiles brightly in return and nods.

"And Jackson, Liliana, Aaron, and Betty are your aunts and uncles." Archie adds, which earns him an excited squeeze from her small, soft hand.

"And Jelly Bean is my real aunt." She beams. "I have two grandpas, no grandmas but who cares because moms suck anyways." She says carelessly, making the two of them snort.

"Well I mean you do have two, ones just dead and the other ones dead to me." Jughead says bluntly which earns him a smack in the arm from his husband and a glare. "Don't give me that look, I keep trying with her and she manages to piss me off with something new." He glares back.

"What did she do?" Reina laughs.

"She told me that I was too young to be a good parent and I was like bitch-"

"Language." Archie hisses as their daughter snickers.

"I was like, you piece of crap, I'd be a way better parent than you cuz I'd never ignore my child for years and then try to make it all better 10 years later." He corrects.

"Did you actually tell her that?" Reina asks innocently.

"Of course not, I let her drone on and on until she was done talking because I didn't want an argument. A trick that works on any adult every single time." He sighs, but then sees the devious look on her face and his eyes widen. "Don't even try to use it on us." He warns.

"Why, I would never!" She mocks innocence before placing her freehand on her chest and batting her eyelashes.

"Did you put any thought into how you want your room to look?" Archie asks curiously, which makes her even more excited.

"I want royal purple walls, a pretty white rug, and that's as far as I got." She admits.

"We can go look at stuff tomorrow if you want." Jughead offers.

"Really? Oh please!"

"Anything for you." Her parents say at the same time, both blushing once they realize that they're going to end up spoiling this poor child to death.

"I'm so excited, I haven't ever been so happy." She continues to go on, a little ball of energy as the car makes its way through the thick city traffic. "... and we can go to juniors. I've always wanted to go to juniors. Oh my gosh! Dad, you can read me bedtime stories and daddy, you can sing me lullabies! I don't care if I'm ten, we have to make up for lost time!"
