Twenty Years Old ❣︎ December
"JB!" Jughead yells happily, hugging her tightly after she runs into her arms. "I've missed you so much." He mumbles.
"I missed you more. So much has happened and I feel like it's not the same without you here." She mumbles back.
She's right.
It's only been three years since Jughead left for college, and somehow Jelly Bean's word got turned upside down the minute he left despite him never being around much in the first place. For starters, she decided to give FP a chance. She's not sure what made her do it. Maybe it's because she figured he can't be that bad if Jughead trusts him, or maybe it's because that's the closest link she has to him. Either way, she took a leap of faith and started with a text. Those progressed to phone calls and those progressed to visits and now, Jelly Bean is actually over the small trailer she grew up in a lot.
She's heard tons of stories of her father being a monster, a selfish manipulator who cares about nothing but a bottle of health risks, from her mother. Jelly Bean can't help but to disagree now, and of course this caused problems with her own mother because of it.
Then there's the fact that she's having problems in school, which are sort of the exact opposite of Jughead's Old problems. She has too many friends.
Yes, too many friends.
Too many fake friends, too many people hanging around her for a reputation, too many guys begging for her attention, it's exhausting really. She isn't quite sure how or why she became so, well, popular, but she can tell you that she doesn't particularly like it. She much rather prefers hanging out with her best friend, the only real person she hangs out with, alone.
It's stressful. Being 13 is stressful.
Jelly Bean acknowledges the fact that her brother had it much, much, worse when he was her age but she doesn't think that makes her problems feel any less significant. If she wants to cry and eat a pint of ice cream because the boy that's not her boyfriend but is in her head had the audacity to kiss another girl right in front of her than she will. That doesn't mean she's weak or any less of a queen either.
Jughead pulls away from the hug and takes her hand, pulling her inside of the small trailer with a happy smile on his face. Jelly Bean sits on the couch, Jughead taking his usual position on the floor and the two stare at each other. Jelly Bean got taller. Jughead would have to guess she's maybe about 5"3 now. Her eyes are more green now rather than the hazel they were when she was born, and she cut her hair shorter. Much to Jelly Bean's dismay, she is developing which annoys her on so many levels. She plays sports, those being Lacrosse and Basketball, and with every bigger change in cup size she's starting to hate running more and more due to the amount of pervs that seem to keep their eyes on her chest every time she runs.
Jughead changed a lot too appearance wise. He's gotten even more attractive despite no one thinking that was possible. He's grown his hair out more to the point where it flops in his face all the time, but in a Young Lip DiCaprio/ Beck from Victorious way that anyone with eyes can see is extremely attractive. Liliana thinks he purposely runs his fingers through his hair and flips it, but Jughead doesn't really know how attractive he is. He's also gotten more muscular, his arms more toned and his face less chubby. In regards to his hat, he does wear it sometimes but not daily anymore. He's not sure why, he's not ashamed of it and he loves it with all his heart but he honestly just forgets.
