Ella stood at the bus stop, her rainbow coloured umbrella up keeping the rain away. She sighed, it was just another day in the UK, where they got all the bad weather from Ireland.

She waited impatiently for the bus. She was an extremely impatient person in general but waiting for public transport was especially tedious.

Her phone rang and she sighed as she awkwardly scrambled around trying to reach the ringing phone in her pocket and not stab anyone with the umbrella.

She freed the phone and everyone was unharmed, so she was fairly pleased with herself until she answered the phone.

"Hello?"

"Ella love where are you?" It was her mum on the other end.

"Waiting for the bus"

"Well please hurry up, the guests will be arriving soon"

"Mum, I can't hurry up a bus, it's gonna be here in like 15 minutes"

"Well, text me when you're on the bus okay?"

Ella rolled her eyes "Yeah yeah okay. Bye"

She shoved the phone back in her pocket and sighed deeply.

"You okay babe?"

Ella turned to the source of the unfamiliar voice. It was a girl, with sparkling eyes and blue hair. She stood beside the bus stop pole, in the pouring rain, looking at Ella.

"Uh, yeah, I'm okay, just my mum wants me home and she's like hurry up and I'm like I can't hurry a bus up heh..." she trailed off, realising how ridiculous she sounded "Hey, uh, wanna stand under my umbrella?"

"Oh god, can I actually?"

"Sure!"

The girl shuffled over under Ella's umbrella, the gratitude evident on her face "Thank you! I thought I was going to drown haha!"

"I'm assuming you're not English, you'd be used to rain"

The girl smiled "Ha, no I'm from America! I live in Los Angeles"

"Oh! That's so cool! Is it always sunny?"

"Always!"

"Oh my god, I'm so moving"

The girl laughed.

"Hey, uh, my name's Ella" Ella smiled at the girl who gave her a broad smile back.

"My name's Ashley!"

"So why are you here Ashley?" Ella asked, adjusting the umbrella that had begun to flop slightly.

"I was here for a concert yesterday but we're staying here for a few days, so I went up to Manchester to visit my friend Matty but he's in Germany and I forgot so yay waste of a trip"

"Awhh, that's so annoying! I'm sorry"

"Ah it's okay, it was nice to look around the city anyways. It reminds me of where I grew up in New Jersey"

"Aww well at least you got something out of it. Kinda"

Ashley laughed "Haha, true! Tell me about you though!"

"Me? Well, uh my name is Ella, I'm 21 and I live in North London. I still live with my parents but I'm in college in Birmingham, I want to be a crime scene investigator"

Ashley was shocked "That's so cool!! Like on CSI?! Cooooool! I wanted to go to college because I wanted a major in fine arts. But I went to a community college instead but I ended up dropping out because I became friends with this guy, Zach, who gave me LSD. I used to just sit in Central Park and be drunk and my parents threw me out. I was in a really dark place for a while but I'm much better now thankfully. I'm really thankful for where I am in life now. I'm so glad you have your life ahead of you, you're really lucky"

"Oh Ashley, you've been through so much! I'm proud of you for being able to see the light the other side, that's so amazing! For some people, it doesn't work out that way. I'm so proud of you"

Ashley gave me a huge smile "That means so much to me, thank you Ella!" she gave me an awkward hug, due to the umbrella getting in the way.

The time flew past us and pretty soon, the bus pulled up at the stop.

Ella paid for her ticket but Ashley had a bit of a problem with the money due to the British money being different to dollars.

"Here, I'll pay" Ella got her the ticket and headed down to the back of the bus, where Ashley took a seat next to her.

"I was so confused thank you"

For the first time, Ella got to properly look at Ashley's face. She had stunning hazel eyes, a cute button nose and little freckles dotted on her nose and cheeks, along with a prominent jawline and high cheekbones. She really was beautiful. To top it all off, she had an hourglass figure and was complete perfection from head to toe.

Ella didn't realise how long she was staring until Ashley snapped her out of it by telling her to "Take a picture, it'll last longer"

"I'm sorry" she apologised "You really are beautiful"

Ashley instantly blushed "Why thank you! You're stunning yourself babe"

I bit my lip at "babe". It was always a word that made me weak at the knees.

"So, uh Ashley, there's a party at my house tonight, would you like to go? I don't mean a party like with drink or anything it's a shitty family thing and my mum is hosting it and I don't wanna be alone" Ella asked her, almost pleading. She really despised family events.

Ashley chucked "Of course! Wouldn't wanna see you stuck!!"

And so, Ella and Ashley sat at the back of the bus, waiting for Ella's stop so the party could really begin.
