Ashley prised open her eyes at exactly 6:45am that morning and she, almost robotically, got out of her bed and silently got dressed. She didn't want to wake Camila but she didn't know when she'd see her again so she softly kissed her, waking her up.
"Morning Ashley" Camila said quietly, yawning.
"Hey love, I'm just going out. I've things to do"
Camila's smile dropped "Ashley..."
"Don't "Ashley" me Camila" Ashley sighed "Please okay, I've no other choice"
"Yes you do! The right one!"
Ashley groaned. "Mel, I have to go" She went to kiss her but Camila turned away, making Ashley kiss her cheek instead.
Ashley looked at Camila and sighed, grabbing her bag and leaving the room.
It was starting to rain now. It was only a light drizzle but Ashley still had to run to her car because as light as the rain was, if she stood out in it long enough, she'd be soaked.
As she turned the key in the ignition, Ashley couldn't help but feel guilty at the way she had left her girlfriend; upset and angry.
She sighed and put her foot on the gas, driving away and heading towards her destination and away from Camila.
She placed her back on the backseat and drove through the rain along the I-15. She hated the road because she couldn't stop to light herself a much needed cigarette.
Eventually, she was off the motorway and onto a winding back road. She pulled in on the side and lit the cigarette, gently blowing the smoke out and into the car.
To her surprise, somebody knocked against her car window.
Confused, Ashley let down the window to come face to face with a dark haired girl.
"Uh, hi! I'm Lauren and I saw you pull over and uh, I was wondering could I uh...hitch a ride to LA? If you're going that way!" The girl smiled and fiddled at her fingers, obviously nervous.
"As a matter of fact, I am going to LA, so sure, get in" Ashley was a little nervous aswell now but it wasn't like this girl had to know what her task was right?
Ashley threw the ashes to the wind and rolled up the window. Lauren gingerly got into the car and buckled up.
She was obviously taught to fasten her seatbelt thought Ashley. Shame she wasn't taught anything about strangers.
Ashley started the car up again and off the two girls went.
"So why are you going to LA?" Lauren asked. She ran her fingers along the door of the car.
"Uh...I'm meeting someone. What about you?"
Lauren giggled "I'm running away!"
