Ashley threw on her jacket and grabbed her bag before quickly shuffling out of the school.
She didn't want to be seen by anyone, especially not her.
But her efforts didn't make any difference; she was found anyway.
"Oh Halsey? Yoohoo" A voice called after her.
"Hello Lauren" Ashley whispered, stopping dead in her tracks and turning to face the girl with the long brown hair and leather jacket.
"Written any songs about me lately?" Lauren laughed cruelly at her.
Ashley looked at the ground.
Ashley had a YouTube channel where she posted videos of her singing original songs and covers. There was a song entitled "Ghost" that was written specifically about Lauren.
Lauren knew it was about her and ever since, she's bullied Ashley about it.
"No" mumbled Ashley, answering her question.
"Maybe I should give you an idea then" Lauren was beside her now, whispering in her ear.
"Go away Lauren, I don't like you anymore" Ashley lied.
"Oh, well that's hurtful. I'm hurt" Lauren clutched her heart.
"Leave me alone" a tear slipped from Ashley's eye.
"Are you crying baby? Why don't you run home to mommy?" Lauren sneered
Ashley lost it "WELL AT LEAST I DON'T CRY AT EVERYTHING LIKE YOU DO"
Lauren slapped her, making Ashley fall to the ground "You shut the fuck up right now" she looked around nervously, making sure no one heard.
Lauren had the reputation of the popular girl to keep up and Ashley, her old elementary school friend, was the only person who knew just how sensitive she really was.
"No! I'm sick of it Lauren, fuck off" Ashley lowered her voice but continued to stand up for herself.
Lauren went to hit her when Ashley grabbed her two hands and pinned her to the side wall of the school.
"Lauren, fuck off and leave me alone. You only do this to keep up your stupid reputation or whatever but you don't fool me. I know how you really feel"
Lauren gulped. Did Ashley really know?
"And how do I really feel?" Lauren mocked her tone, rather pathetically. She was shaking under Ashley's grip.
Ashley got closer to her, so their bodies and the tips of their noses touched.
"I know you feel the same" she whispered before dropping Lauren's hands and walking away, leaving Lauren, still against the wall, shaking.
Ashley really did know how she felt.
