Everything had gone in slow motion for Percy. He couldn't believe it. His sister, his only sister, is gone. Percy slowly stood up with his fist clenched. "Well, that's unfortunate," Jack stated with no remorse or sadness laced in his voice.
"Unfortunate?" Percy asked through gritted teeth as he turned around to face him. "Unfortunate?! You killed my sister!"
Jack shook his with a smile. "Tsk tsk tsk, no I didn't. You did."
Percy's face fell. "What?"
"You're the one who hit her over the edge, am I wrong?" Jack asked with a smug smile as he walked over to a fuming Percy.
"I wouldn't have done that if you weren't controlling her!" Percy jabbed his finger into Jack's chest.
"Yeah ya see," Jack flicked Percy's finger off him and started towards his original spot. "None of that would've happened if you all," Jack gestured to the whole group, "didn't let her slip through the cracks."
"Why are we even letting this guy talk? Let's pummel him already," Leo argued.
"But if you do that my dear Leo, you'll never know the truth," Jack countered.
"What do you mean?" Reyna asked. Everyone one started giggling, with the exception of Reyna. "What is so funny?"
"What do you mean?" Leo began singing.
"Ohh ohh ohh," they all vocalized.
"When you nod your head yes but you wanna say no," Percy sang.
"What do you mean?" Jack finished off. They all laughed as Reyna just stared at them confused.
Once they all calmed down Leo asked, "What were we talking about?"
"Jack said we would never know the truth," Reyna reminded everyone.
"Oh right!" Jack began and cleared his throat. "You see, one might say this is all your fault."
"How?" Hazel asked.
"We didn't do anything," Piper added just as confused as everyone else.
"Exactly!" Jack snapped and pointed at Piper. "You all did nothing. Delta needed you and you sat idly by like you didn't care."
"We do care!" Percy argued.
"Do you?" Jack asked with an incredulous look on his face. "Did you care when she isolated herself from everyone? Did you care when she was harming herself?"
"She was harming herself?" Annabeth whispered, but Jack heard.
"See the fact that you didn't know speaks for itself," Jack pointed out. "She needed someone, but it seemed like no one needed her. That's why it was so easy to control her. She was already vulnerable, but you made her feel vulnerable and alone."
"We didn't mean to," Jason protested.
"They never do," Jack responded with a longing look. "Now, enough talking." Jack extended his arm that held the stone. "Time to bring back the dead." Jack was about to say something when he felt something sharp on his back.
"I don't think so," Alex interrupted from behind him holding his dagger against his brothers back.
"Why hello Alex," Jack greeted recognizing his voice.
"Hello brother, now hand over the stone," Alex demanded.
"I don't think so," with that Jack vanished. However, the stone fell to the floor and Alex picked it up walking over to the others.
"I'm not complaining or anything," Frank began. "But why did he leave the stone?"
"I guess he didn't do his research on the stone," Alex answered.
"What does that mean?" Jason asked.
"The stone can't be moved with magic, so when he left he left the stone behind," Annabeth explained. "At least that's what I read."
"Who cares about any of this?!" Percy shouted frustrated. "My sister is dead!"
"Percy, calm down," Alex attempted to soothe him.
"Calm down? I can't calm down! She's dead!"
"She might not be!" Alex argued.
"What?" Percy asked taken back.
"She fell into a lake, she could be alive."
Everyone was stunned into silence and frozen. "Well what are we waiting for people?!" Thalia snapped everyone out of it. "Let's get Delta!" With that they all hurried down to the lake in hopes of finding Delta alive.
