When the pegasi landed back at Camp Half Blood they were surrounded by campers. Chiron trotted over to them. "Did you do it?" Chiron asked them.
"Yeah," Percy answered as he hopped down from BlackJack. "We did it." The campers started to cheer, but the group stayed silent with frowns on their face.
"What's the matter?" Chiron asked causing the campers to become silent.
No one answered as Percy picked up Deltas body from Marie. That's when Clarisse made her way through the crowd. She was smiling but soon it turned into a frown when her eyes landed on the lifeless Delta in Percy's arms. "What's up with Delta?" Clarisse asked worried.
Percy opened his mouth to reply, but got choked up as he couldn't bring himself to say it. As it would only make it more real.
"Deltas dead," Reyna was the one to speak up causing the crowd to start whispering questions to each other.
Clarisse had tears in her eyes, but refused to let them fall. "How?"
Percy laughed bitterly as tears were rolling down his face. "She drowned."
Clarisse's fists clenched tightly. "Who did it?"
Before Percy could say, once again, that it was his fault Alex spoke up, "It was my brother."
Clarisse noticed Alex for the first time. "And who the hades are you?"
"I'm Alex West, son of Hermes," Alex introduced himself. "My brother, Jack, is the one responsible for her death. I'm sorry."
Clarisse started her way towards him when Annabeth stopped her. "Cool it, Clarisse. He's a good guy. He helped us stop his brother." Clarisse backed down and everything was silent.
Then Percy spoke up. "We're gonna need a shroud. A shroud for the daughter of Poseidon."
"I'll help make it," Clarisse offered.
Percy narrowed his eyes at her. "Clarisse, I swear to the gods if you make this into a j-"
"I would never do that, Jackson. She was my friend to."
Percy nodded. With that the whole group plus Clarisse went to make a shroud for Delta.
