Chapter 20 - The Green-Eyed Monster

It's a wonderful morning and the weather is not too hot, a perfect day for writing. I'm not sure I will be publishing a second update today, guys, I will be busy cramming for AMACon. So here's my update on your favorite couple, a scenario when the green-eyed monster jealousy takes over Richard.This was actually a request of one of the readers, kaya walang sisihan if medyo may ouchy hahaha. Bawi na lang when they kiss and make up in the next chapter, something to look forward to. 

So.....how is a guy supposed to react or be territorial kung hindi pa naman sila ng girl? May karapatan ba siya mambakod or magselos? And the girl, if she established that she likes a guy, pero hindi pa naman sila, dapat bang may self-bakod mechanism? Any feedback on a past experience? That's the scenario here.

Richard woke up to the smell of bacon and freshly brewed coffee wafting in the air. He slept well in his room despite the late night spent talking with Maine. He gets up and does his morning rituals, changes into shorts, a plain white shirt and sneakers. Today, Maine was taking him to the beach, and he looked forward to it. He had brought his camera and lenses with him, an planned to take tons of photos of Maine.

He went out of his room to see Maine's mom already setting the table. Breakfast looked good, there were waffles, bacon and hotdogs, blueberries and maple syrup. A basket of freshly baked bread, some jams and butter were also offered as an alternate choice.

"Good morning, RJ. Join me for breakfast, early riser ka pala like me. Maine is still asleep pero magigising na yun. Let's eat na, catch up na ang siya."

He sat down across her and took the basket of bread from her to get two mini croissants. He spread some jam and and butter and bit into the softness of the bread. It was really good, the crust was buttery and flaky just the way he wanted it.

"Nay, kayo nagbake nito? Ang sarap!."

"Get some more, hijo. Yes, ako nagbake ng bread."

"Ang sarap po. Pwede po huminging isa pa?"

"Heto pa, naku kumain ka lang, wag ka mahihiya, RJ."

"Nay, sasama po ba kayo sa beach samin?"

"Naku....gusto mo ba talaga sumama ako? Yung tutoo? Hindi na lang.......pero RJ, ingatan mo si Menggay ha? Napakabait ng batang yan. Sa nakikita ko, may gusto ka sa anak ko, pero sana, huwag mo siya paasahin kung hindi mo rin naman siya seseryosohin. Iba yung gusto sa mahal. Hindi kita pinipilit na mahalin siya, pero maging sensitive ka sana sa needs niya."

"Don't worry po. Mahal ko po si Maine, kung ako po ang masusunod, girlfriend ko na po siya siguro ngayon pa lang. Pero may priorities siya, nirerespeto ko po yon. Willing po akong maghintay till ready na siya."

"Ready ka ba hanggang kasalan na?"

"NAY!"

"Oh, gising ka na pala."

"Nay nakakahiya ano ba yang mga tinatanong mo? Sir RJ sorry po, wag niyo pong seryosohin yung mga tanong, pasensya na po."

"Sasagutin ko naman eh."

"Wag na, pleaaassseee. Lika na alis na tayo."

"Hindi ka pa kumakain ng breakfast."

"Tapos na, kanina pa ko gising, nauna pa ko sa nanay. Alis na po kami."
