Kaitlyn's POV

"Hello?"

"Sorry to intrude your fun. Guess what? I'm out of jail! And I have your brother. Alex, is it? Anyway, you have one hour to find him before he... well, before he dies. Just call it payback for Shawn killing my little brother." The line went dead. The room started spinning. My angel form took control. I ran up the stairs and grabbed my mom's crown. I bumped into the coffee table and my lamp fell and shattered at my feet. I sat on the bed and pulled at the roots of my hair as tears fell down my face. I saw Shawn run up the stairs and up to me.

"What's wrong, Katie?" he asked. I looked up at him and started sobbing. He sat on the bed next to me and pulled me into a hug.

"You know Jacob's older brother? Derrick?" Shawn nodded. "He told me I had one hour to find Alex before he kills him as payback for killing Jacob." Shawn's face fell. He squeezed me tighter.

"It's all my fault," I heard Shawn say. I pulled away from the hug.

"How is this your fault?"

"I killed Jacob. If I didn't kill Jacob-"

"If you didn't kill Jacob then I could have lost you, Aaliyah, Kendra, Harry, Liam, and whoever else was there. You did what you needed to do. Don't put the blame on yourself," I said.

"How are you so good at that?" Shawn asked, sounding slightly annoyed yet playful.

"Good at what?"

"Bringing other people up. You could be trapped underneath a pillar that fell on you and someone could come up and blame themselves for something and you always find a way to prove to them that it's not their fault. I love and hate that about you. You always put other people's lives and feelings in front of your own. Now are we going to just sit here or are we going to find Alex?"

I closed my eyes, picturing my brother. I saw a dark room with my brother chained up to a pole in the middle. I opened my eyes and looked at Shawn. I have no clue where that could be. Shawn put his hand on my shoulder. I looked at him.

"They're brothers, they might think alike. Is there an abandoned place around your brothers' house?"

"There's an abandoned hotel..."

"That's perfect." Shawn grabbed my arm. I closed my eyes and thought of the hotel. I opened my eyes and I was still in my bedroom. I looked at Shawn.

"It didn't work. Why didn't it work?" I yelled. More tears came down my face. Shawn pulled me into a strangling hug. My breathing slowed down and I relaxed.

"We can ask Louis for help." Shawn took my hand and pulled me into his car and over to Louis' house. I walked up to his doorstep. Shawn's hand was guiding me from my lower back. I knocked on the door shakily.

"Louis, transport me to Alex's house. Don't ask questions, just do it." I grabbed onto his arm and so did Shawn. The scene changed from Louis' front door step to Alex's. I walked inside to see Eve. She was crying on the floor. I went over and picked her up, comforting her. "Eve, where's Uncle Payson?"

"Over there," Eve said, pointing to the kitchen. I walked over to the kitchen. I saw Payson making out with a brunette.

"Oh my!" I exclaimed. They pulled apart and Payson's cheeks brightened. "I'm just going to forget about this because we have to find Alex. He was taken by Derrick Martin. We have about 35 minutes to find him before he is murdered, so you can understand my rush."
