Chapter Twenty Eight

Kaitlyn's POV

Today. I was going today. I didn't know how Shawn was going to react. But that was the answer.

I opened my eyes and looked at him. I took a breath, sitting up. "Today." I stood up. Shawn jumped up and ran over to me.

"You can't go today."

"Why not?" I asked.

"Because you need rest."

"I was just resting for a whole week."

"You weren't resting all the time."

"But it was relaxing, that's what I mean."

"Then you just lost some family. You aren't in the best condition."

"I just lost family. That will help me with the anger."

"But I don't want you to go and get hurt!" Shawn yelled. I looked into his eyes. He sighed. "Look, you can go if you promise to come back when it gets dangerous."

I gave him a small kiss and ran over to the closet. I grabbed my mom's crown and placed it on my head, automatically turning into an angel. A tear fell from Shawn's eye. I took a breath and transported myself to the WWC's headquarters.

It was a tall brick building. There were guards standing outside. I took my crown off and hid my wings. I walked up to the guards.

"Kaitlyn. Finally. Go right on in." Chills ran down my spine and I walked through the doors.

There were so many hallway that I didn't know which one to choose. I went down the one in the center. People walking past would watch me with their mouths hanging open. Some of them would whisper about how they were surprised that I gave in. I just ignored them and continued walking.

I reached the end of the hall. There were double doors that were 15 feet tall with more guards standing there. They opened the door and ushered me inside. I stepped in and looked around. To my left was a long table with three people sitting behind it. I took another step closer.

"Kaitlyn! Welcome. I'm so glad you've decided to come. What convinced you to come?" The Alpha said. I looked at him directly in the eye.

"Shawn."

"We didn't kill him yet, right?" The Alpha asked the others sitting with him.

"No, the last one we killed was her little sister. Scarlett," one of them answered. I felt the wolf blood rush and my heart fell.

"YOU WHAT?" I used my Alpha voice. The Alpha himself flinched. He then seemed a bit nervous around me. I took a few steps forward. "I WILL KILL YOU AND THE ENTIRETY OF THE WWC."

"Has anyone taught you not to yell in the presence of an Alpha? What's done is done, babe. You can't undo the past," The Alpha said. He gave a small laugh and looked down at his lap.

"I'm scaring you." The Alpha scratched the back of his neck.

"Why would you scare me? I am the highest Alpha of all. Feel my wrath."
