Kaitlyn's POV

Shawn was at an interview. It's been about a week since the Valentines Day ball. I was sitting in the living room with Jessica. She was cuddling with Luke. I don't blame her though. She is spending her time with her boyfriend because they aren't going to see each other for a while.

"Kaitlyn, if you were to be engaged, where would you want to get engaged?" I grabbed my blanket and pulled it over my feet more.

"That's a random question," I chuckled. She smiled at me. "Uhm... probably somewhere quiet where we would be alone-like the woods, maybe spend some time at a cabin."

"Ooh, explain more," she said eagerly.

"He would bring me out to the woods and we would have a good time. Maybe go hunting, swimming at a nearby lake. He could propose any way or time. The way he proposes or the ring or the place, none of that matters to me as long as it's the right guy." I said.

"Any guy would be lucky to have you. Shawn must just be a really wonderful guy." I smiled looking down my hands, which were in my lap.

"He really, really is," I said, my smile effecting the way my words came out of my mouth.

We probably waited half an hour before Shawn came back in. He looked tired, but still smiled. He always smiled. If he got two hours of sleep, he smiled. If he had a really crappy day, he still smiles. I'm in the hospital, he still smiles. The only time I've seen him not happy after something was when his parents died, but that's okay because it is the death of his parents.

I patted the seat next to me behind my legs, and he lied down, laying his head on my lap. I started playing with his hair. I felt his head get heavy and I looked up at Jessica. She nodded, letting me know that he was asleep. I smiled and closed my eyes, resting my head on the couch behind me.

-*a couple hours later*-

Shawn was still asleep on my lap. Jessica and Luke had gone into the back lounge to watch TV. I heard a baby crying and jumped. It had been silent except light snores from Shawn for a while. I rested Shawn's head on a pillow and walked over to the girls cribs. I looked to see that it was Lacee that was crying. I picked her up and started rocking her. I put her on my bed and got out wipes and diapers.

After I changed her she was still crying. I looked down at her. She's hungry. I walked out of the sleeping quarters and into the kitchen/living room. The screaming baby was in my left arm as I skillfully made a bottle with one hand. I stuck the bottle in her mouth and rocked her. Her eyes rolled back into her head as she closed her eyes. She was done with the bottle within the next 20 minutes and she was sound asleep, so I put her back in her crib. Walked past Shawn, going to sit at his feet, but he stopped me. I looked down at him.

"Come here," he said, motioning to himself. I smiled as his raspy voice flowed into my ears. I sat down and he pulled me up so that I was laying under his chin. He wrapped an arm around my waist and took a deep breath in. I relaxed under his grip, closing my eyes and almost instantly falling asleep.

I woke up to whispers. My brain knew the whisper had been going on for a while. I didn't want to open my eyes though. You know how humans say Vampires don't need sleep. Well get me tell you, we most definitely do. I heard a baby crying and instantly opened my eyes. I saw Jessica and Luke sitting across from us again. Jessica was about to stand up to help the baby before I stopped her.

"No, Jessie. I can get her," I said, lifting Shawn's arm off my waist and standing up, feeling cold as I left his warmth. Chills ran down my spine. I walked into sleeping quarters. I found Lizzy without a blanket on in just a onsie. I gasped and lifted her up, hugging her tight to my body. It was almost fall. It was starting to get cold outside. I walked outta the living room.

"Who took the blankets away from Lizzy?" I asked, taking the blanket from the now awake Shawn. I wrapped her up and sat on the couch. No one said anything. I saw something out of the corner of my eye step out of the shadows. It wasn't human or wolf, that's for sure. It was probably a vampire. I stood up and Shawn stood up with me.

"I did it, sorry." The vampire said, scratching the back of her head. She stepped further into the light of the living room. I recognize that face. Realization hit my face as I saw who it was.

"Amnesia?" I asked, shaking with fear. She nodded. "Who turned you?"

"Gabe," she spit. I looked at her sadly. "How have you been?" She asked, trying to change the subject.

"Great. There's been a couple deaths but uhh," I looked at Shawn, who looked down at his feet, "I always look at the positive side."

"How's your fangirling going?" She chuckled. I saw Shawn holding in a laugh.

"I couldn't imagine Kaitlyn fangirling," Luke stated.

"Well, that's saying a lot, considering I used to fangirl over you." I chuckled at the shocked face he made.

"Wow, I'm impressed Mija," Amnesia chuckled.

"Wait, your name is Amnesia?" Luke asked.

"Yeah."

"Well that's awkward," he muttered.

"What?" She asked.

"He has a song with his band called Amnesia and it says 'I wish that I could wake up with amnesia', like the condition."

"Ohhh. Hehe, that's actually kinda funny," she chuckled. I smiled.

_____

A few hours after that, Amnesia left and the day after that Jessica had to say bye to Luke. We were currently back at home -or rather- Pickering. It was good to be back in a place with woods nearby. I needed to hunt.

"Shawn, what's wrong. You seem so tense."

"I may need a little break. Do you want to maybe go out to the cabin? Just you and me? I could write some more and you'd be able to hunt..," Shawn said, looking a little scared.

"Of course! I'll repack so I'll be ready. We leave tomorrow morning," I said.
