All at once, they both charged at me.
Cheerilee was in the back of the guard. She was going to let him sacrifice himself for her, even if he didn't notice he was doing it.
She watched what was going to happen. She thought her plan would work...
But she didn't know this: Life doesn't follow plans. Especially your plans.
The guard had his sword drawn, and it was aiming right for my heart.
Adrenaline isn't the best for battling, so I just dodged out of the way...
But instead of sliding with my claws on the ground, I fell over, letting them get the advantage.
Now they had more than one advantage: 1. I was on the ground. 2. They had weapons. 3. They had a plan.... And, 4. It was two against one...
But still, I didn't care about these facts. I had myself, and that's all I needed. You learn to rely on yourself when you are always the loner.
The guard took the advantage, and he stood over me with his sword pointed to my heart.
Cheerilee walked over. "Mm, you know we wouldn't let you escape, Wolfie. You're too precious and too important to let you escape... Well maybe not the last two things, but, we can't let you escape. You're just a mutt." She spat. "Now there's nothing you can do. Now die."
I needed something to happen... 'Please... What do I do?' I asked the void in my mind. I needed somepony to tell me what to do...
I had no plan.
I had myself....I am useless on my own. I have no purpose on my own... But I'm living for them...
The guard lifted his sword in the air. It's pointy edge faced exactly where my heart was, and if it stabbed me I instantly would be killed.
But... I had a plan now.
