I gasped quietly...
Tears streamed down my face as I saw my friends before me. I knew now that leaving was the right choice... These were my friends. This was my place...But we weren't out of the clearing, yet.
We were all hurt, which, if a monster came to us right about now we would all be dead...
Giant stops shook the ground as if we were having an earthquake... I could sense a dark presence around, and at that point I knew, I should just keep my big mouth shut.
Yep, now I was certain...
This was our final task.I could feel the fear in myself and in my enemies eyes...
If we both feared each other, this would end badly.
For, those whom fear will risk anything for their life...We had to fight, didn't we?
This was all about the task of me staying a pacifist or turning to genocide...
Or was it something more?
What were they getting at?
What was the catch?
What was I missing?I shakily stood up, and looked at my friends. They had all made it, they were all alive! Though, they may be wounded, they were here and breathing...
I smiled faintly.
I looked up at the running monster coming for us, and all I could hear was low growling... I could only see teeth bared, and I could only feel the fear in my enemies' eyes.
My friends groaned as they tried to stand up, but many fell back down.
But they kept on trying.
And in that way, I understood each and every one of them...
Yes, these were my true friends...
Indeed, indeed they were. One by one, they all got up, and they stood beside me...
No questions were asked...
We were together,
We were one.
