Chapter 26: The Scavenger Hunt

Chapter 26: (Cassie's POV)

*The Next Day*

After getting ready and eating a good breakfast, I race upstairs to get Dan. Today's challenge is the Scavenger Hunt (of Doom) and Sadie said today we have to arrive to the destination with our partner. So, I trudge up the steps and pound on the boys' door. Phil opens the door and smiles. "Good morning Cassie!" He says, letting me into the flat. "Morning, is Dan up yet?" I ask, anxious to start the challenge. Phil frowns in disappointment that I'm not here for him. "He's down the hall getting ready" he sighs. "Ok, just tell him to come down to my flat when he's ready," I tell Phil. With that I begin to leave the flat. "Wait!" Phil shouts, grabbing my arm. I turn to face him and look up into his beautiful, blue eyes. He starts to say something, but loses his words when Dan comes out. "Oh good your here!" Dan smiles walking over to me. He glances at Phil and says "Hands off Hufflepuff!" Dan takes my other arm and drags me toward the door, causing Phil to let go. "C'mon, we have a challenge to do" He scoffs. The 2 of us leave the flat and head downstairs to the lobby.

This time we find Sadie, sitting on top of the counter with her legs crossed and her hands folded together on top of her knees. "And the Slytherins are here" she announces. She promptly puts her hands on the counter and looks at me. "What?" I ask, looking around the room, in hope someone is behind me. "Oh nothing" she creepily smiles. I take a step toward Dan and look back at Sadie. "Well, looks like were just waiting for Hufflepuff and Gryffindor.." PJ huffs. "More like the mudbloods and the over achievers" Dan sneers. We both burst out in laughter, but stop when Liz, Ashton, Phil, and Chris come down. "Now what were you saying about my team?" Chris asks getting extremely close to me. He glares down at me and grabs my arm tightly. "Hey! Don't touch her" Dan snaps. Chris let's go of my arm and walks over to Ashton. How come no points off for Gryffindor!!!

I cross my arms and huff. "Today's challenge is the Scavenger Hunt! You will be required to find as many of the 16 items on this list as you can in the next 2 hours. You'll have to travel around and you must stay with your House the whole time. Houses aren't allowed to 'team' and you should try and keep your distance. Good luck to you all" PJ explains. His warm hand brushes against mine and the list is gently placed into it. I give him a small smile and turn to Dan. I hand him the long list of items. "My god! How are we supposed to get half of this!?" Dan cries out. He throws his fists in the air and shakes his head. I take a step away from him and look at Sadie who is laughing at him. "Time starts now!!!" She exclaims. Sadie instantly grabs PJ's arm and drags him into her flat. Wonder what their doing... Never mind, it doesn't matter, but Dan suggests we hang out around here and wait for them to come back out. Why? To take their stuff of course! Well, maybe not, but they could have extras. In the mean time I go back over the list.

(Sadie's POV)

I drag PJ into my lonely flat and race into my room. I have pretty much everything here! PJ already has the blue headphones, so that's one item down! PJ walks off to find a bag while I gather the items I already have. Ok, let's see what do we have here? Yes! Everything BUT the Stolen Menu, Stripped Zebra shirt, uneaten pancakes, and selfie with a cat! Woo! I pile everything together and lift it up into the bag with PJ's help. "Thanks!" I smile. The 2 of us joyfully walk out of the room and find Dan and Cassie sorting out their stuff. They seem to have a lot... Oh god... hopefully they don't have as much as us. They probably don't though. But as we pass by Cassie turns to me. "Oh hi Sadie!" she deviously smirks. Her deep, dark brown eyes twinkle in the sunlight, making them seem almost golden. She reaches out toward me and pulls my headphones out of my ears as I'm distracted by the fascination of her lit up eyes. "Thanks for the head phones!" She yells as Dan pulls her out of the building in a fast run. What just happened?

While in shock PJ grabs my arm and pulls me out of the complex. "C'mon, we've got items to find!" He exclaims. Instead if running like the others we walk, deciding we have enough time to find the other 4 items we need. The 1st item we retrieve is the menu from a restaurant. I slip into the small building filled with customers and waiters. One lady begins to walk toward me, but I quickly swipe a menu and shove it up my shirt. I rush out of the place and down the street with PJ trailing behind me. "Ok 3 more items to go" I pant handing him the menu. God I hate people. Not my friends but like actual people. Anyway, more time ticks by and the only item we need now is the selfie with a cat! "I've got this one!" PJ cheers. He gleefully walks over to a stray cat and kneels down next to it. He talks in a sweet, soft, gentle voice to it and scratches the back of it's ear. Cat lover alert. PJ smiles real big and takes the picture. "Yay! We've got all the items!!!!" he cheers.

*1 hour later*

(Cassie's POV)

Dan and I arrive last to the complex where we were told to meet up again. When we walk into the room everyone becomes silent. As we find our table and lay out our stuff I promptly fix my wonderful, green tie. The air is still and everyone's eyes are laid upon us. What is up with them? "What? Did we do something?" I ask throwing my arms out to the side. I look directly at Liz who seems to have the most intense stare. "Nothing" she mumbles. Way to let your guard down.. loser! Sadie ignores me as usual and walks over to our table. "1....2..3..4...5..6..7...8...9...10...11...12..." She says counting our items. I look around the room and mentally count everyone else's items as well. Once again Hufflepuff lost and guess who won... Sadie's face lights up and she shouts, "And.... RAVENCALW WINS AGAIN!!!!!"
