Chapter 9: The Beach

Chapter 9: (Ricky's POV)

Let's just say the girls talk a little too loud. We heard everything. "They're on to you" JC laughs. I roll my eyes and we head down stairs. The girls tell us to give them 2 minutes then they'll be downstairs. Tyler times them and surprisingly they walk down right at the 2 minute mark. "Holy crap... that was precise timing.." Tyler mumbles in shock. Other than that JC, Sam, Trevor and Connor stare at the girls with goggly eyes. Even I stared. "Well let's go!" Cassie smiles. She's so beautiful. I swear she's the one. I don't care if we just met in person, I've always had a thing for her. Ever since the day I came across their channel. Surprisingly i was one of their 1st followers. But they probably don't know that being that that was a while ago. She has to be the one though, I mean seriously, she has a white tank top with squirtle on it and a Pikachu towel. Now that's just awesome!! "Umm.. Guys? Let's go.." Liz says snapping all of us out of the trance. Haha looks like we were all trapped by their gorgeousness. "Who's driving with me?" Cassie asks. "JC, Ricky, Kian, and Tyler are driving with you" Liz says to Cassie. "Ok! C'mon let's gooo!!" She cheers. The 5 of us pile into the car and Cassie drives us to the beach. She blasts the music and while we are driving Tyler leans over to me and whispers "I can tell that you really really really like her." My cheeks turn red and Tyler snickers quietly. "Knew it" he mouths. I roll my eyes and listen to Trevor and Cassie sing "Neon Lights" by Demi Lovato.

After 10 minutes we arrive at the beach. Liz pulls up in her car right next to us with everyone else. We all get out of the car and grab our stuff. Ashton grabs a couple boogie boards and Cassie grabs a basket full of sand castle buckets and shovels. "C'mon!! The beach is this way!!" Liz cheers running down a pathway of sand. The 9 of us follow her and soon we are on the beach. "Wow look at the water!!!" Trevor exclaims. He drops his towel on the sand, pulls off his shirt, slips off his shoes, and races toward the water. Haha oh Trevor. "Wait for me!!!" Cassie yells. She pulls off her tank top revealing a black and white strapless bikini top and a pair of black swim shorts for girls. She chases after Trevor and jumps into the ocean with him. "It's great to see her so happy" Liz smiles. "Is she normally not this happy?" JC asks. "Nah.. Even Alex couldn't make her happy.. Ever since her mom passed away a couple months ago she's be in this weird funk. But it's nice to see her out of it" I over hear Liz say to JC. Her mom died? "How?" JC asks. "She died of Cancer" Liz tells him. "Oh that's terrible" JC sighs. That is terrible!! How could I not know that? She tells her followers everything.. I guess this was to personal..

Ok push those thoughts away. Now my main goal is to make sure Cassie is always happy. No matter what. I slip of my shoes and shirt and grab 2 boogie boards. I run into the water and pick Cassie up with my free arm. "Hahaha hey! Put me down!" She laughs. Trevor splashes her and she kicks water back at him. I put Cassie down and say "I grabbed you a boogie board." Her faces lights up as I hand her the board and I can't resist to smile back. Her smile literally makes my day. Cassie swims out a little farther and waits for a wave to come. "C'mon!! Come ride the waves with me!" She yells waving me over. I swim over to her and she explains how to ride the wave all the way to the shore. "Ok here comes a good one" She deviously smiles. We both lay on our boards and wait for the wave to come. The wave approaches quickly and Cassie begins to kick. She manages to get to shore, but for me not so much.. The water topples over me dragging me below the surface. As I reach the air I hear Cassie laughing. "Nice try lover boy!!" Ashton yells. The 2 of them laugh together as I trudge back to the bank. "Wanna try again?" Cassie asks. "Sure" I say. Honestly I didn't want to pulled under the water again. But I'm not going to give up.

*2 hours later*

"Ok.. That's enough boogie boarding for now.. You did great" Cassie pants. The 2 of us have been riding the waves for over 2 hours now. Thankfully I caught on quickly and was able to ride the waves close to shore. Cassie made it to the shore every time, but she has the advantage being that she learned how to ride a boogie board when she was 5. "You did great for a beginner" She smirks as we walk back up to our stuff. "Thanks, You did amazing" I tell her. "Thank you. I learned from the best" She smiles obviously remembering a past memory. She smiles the whole time on the way up to the towels keeping quiet as well. "What's with the smile Cas?" Liz asks. "Just remembering when my dad taught me how to boogie board when I was little. He was great at it, but I was terrible" Cassie laughs. "Haha I remember that. You were so bad, but after the incident you devoted yourself to learning how to do it" Liz chuckles. Cassie manages to keep up her smile, but I could tell the mention of her dad hurt her. Even Liz noticed. "Uh.. Want some Coca-Cola? It's your favorite" Liz asks. "Hehe of course! I'll be right back! I'm going to go put these boards back in the car" Cassie says excusing herself from the situation.

Cassie runs off and Liz looks worried. "Hey! Ashton!!" Liz shouts. Ashton runs over to us and while she does Connor trips and falls onto her. They both fall onto the sand and Connor says "Oh my gosh!! So sorry!" "Hehe it's fine" Ashton giggles as Connor helps her up. This time she walks over. "You need me?" She asks. "Yea, can you go check on Cas? I think I made her upset...." Liz mutters. "Sure which way did she go?" Ashton says maintaining a smile the whole time. Liz points her in the direction Cassie went and Ashton jogs down the path. Liz looks worried so I say "You ok?" "Yea fine. I shouldn't have mentioned 'the incident'" Liz confesses. "Hey it's ok we all make mistakes sometimes" I tell her. Liz gives me a small smile and says "You know Cassie likes you. She like, like-likes you. You should have heard the things she said about you. The smile that light up her face was so big." "Really?" I ask. I can't believe she likes me! Can this day get any better? "Yea, she really does and if you promise not to tell I'll tell you who I like" Liz shyly smiles. "I promise!" I exclaim, eager to hear who it is. I swear sometimes I feel like a girl. Eh... who cares! "Ok, I like... JC. Don't tell him" She whispers. "I already know" JC smirks.

He picks Liz up from behind and spins her around. "And just to let you know I like you to" He smiles putting her down, but not unwrapping his arms. Their fore heads touch and the stand there looking into each other's eyes. I instantly whip out my phone a snap a picture. Too cute! They pull away and Liz literally had the biggest, and I mean it, smile ever. She looks so unbelievably happy. Then Cassie and Ashton come back. They both throw their heads back in laughter. Nice to see she's happy. "Liz, she was simply putting away the boogie boards. The mention of her dad made her happy" Ashton laughs. "Yea, it's good to remember every once in a while" Cassie smiles. They both eye Liz oddly and tilt their heads in unison. It's like they're synced. "Why so happy?" Cassie asks. Liz just smiles and JC wraps his arm around her waist. "Woah there mister! Arm and hand above the equator!" Ashton says. "Oh shut up, mom" Liz rolls her eyes. "What did you confess your true love dramatically?" Cassie chuckles. "Actually yes!" Liz exclaims. Ashton and Cassie both gasp and squeal. Liz pulls away from JC and the girls all join hands and jump up and down. "Oh my gosh!! Really!!" Ashton cheers. "Yes!! really!" Liz replies. "Ahhh!!!" They all screamed. Connor, JC, and I eye them oddly, but shake it off. With these girls anything could happen.
