I, no we, we were both on our knees. But it didn't matter, because it was me, yes me. Who has hanging on a piece of thread. And not my companion over here, enjoying the taste of my flesh. My flesh, I laughed at those words when I should really, really be scared now. Somebody eating my flesh sounded so funny, or scary that I decided to not be scared. I guess, just like Lilith, I didn't want to die with a frown on my face.
Everything was now swaying, in fact hazy. My shoulder hurt, it did, and I could feel all my muscles contract at one time, trying to fight whatever was entering my system now.
Die, I begged myself...just die already. I wanted the pain to end, I wanted it to end now...so please, die, I told myself.
Suddenly, another one of those things came, finally, I thought to myself. This guy might help rip my head off, and then I'll be dead. Or maybe not...I mean, this dude, or whatever was approaching me didn't even smell like a zombie, and it was walking like how a real human being should. And that face...why was that face so familiar?
Wait, that was Adrian!
When Adrian was at a close distance to the both of us, he lifted his arms and stabbed the monster at the head with the dagger I used earlier, Adrian pulled it back with disgust in his face, the dagger dripping with that zombie's blood.
And as for the thing, it released it's teeth from my shoulder and it dropped dead. It's eyes wide open, it's head oozing with dark red blood...it was flowing freely and it was disgusting, just disgusting, if the smell from the outside of their bodies was more of a stench, the real smell came from the inside of them.
As for me, I sat down, my knees finally giving way. I was weak...so weak, every muscle in my body started to really, really hurt.
Adrian approached me and placed pressure on my shoulder, he grimaced while I winced. I guess it was because of the blood that was flowing out of my wound or the look of it, as those jagged pairs of teeth bit through my flesh like it was tenderized meat or something.
My wound hurt worse than heck, and somehow I had a weighing hunch it wasn't because of the bite wound, it was more like poison...getting interjected inside of your body, numbing you, but you could still feel the pain, and it burned, it burned and it hurt so much.
Adrian, tore a piece from my jacket, and he wrapped it around my shoulder. Worry creasing into his face. "The head, Caleb, you should've stabbed it at the head." he said.
I raised my eyebrow. "The head?" I asked.
"Yeah, it didn't die because you didn't hit it through the head. You hit it at the heart, those zombies don't have hearts anymore, Caleb. It's their heads you'll have to strike."
I nodded mine, alright, I'll probably do that next time. When a zombie comes running to me, I'll hit it at the head, as easy as that.
"Is he alright, Adrian?" Luther asked, still firing, still shooting. He approached us, with a dark expression, and I suddenly realized, more and more of those things were coming towards us now. But how? It's not like they're attracted to the sound of bullets...sound...bullets...of course, those zombies aren't really into the sound of bullets, but to the sounds, the noises we were making!
He walked away, I didn't know where, but I didn't wanna worry about it, so I let him walk away. "Luther!" I called. "Lessen the noise!"
Luther looked at me, like have you gone nuts? "What? Why?"
I grimaced, this time, trying to help myself sit up. "I'll explain later, but for now, we have to get out of here." I said, stating the obvious.
And Kit Kat...Kit Kat! I tried to stand up, but Adrian restrained me. "Don't worry, Kit Kat's alright. She's awake, Luther's taking care of her." He said, forcing me to relax and heave even breathes.
