(AN: I dedicated it to you my friend, because you were the one who gave me the inspiration to write more, I guess. lol, so thanks a lot for the support so far in with my other stories. :DDD )
"Caleb!" Her voice called, funny how it was the only sound I could hear aside from the roaring engine across those lake waters. It took seconds for the whole thing to sink into my whole body. And it hit me, they did leaves us behind...they left us to these zombies, and probably right now, we would be nothing but zombie chow.
And it was still raining if your asking. I guess that's why I'm a little put off right now.
"Caleb!" She called again, only this time, there was a harshness to her tone. She then came into view and dragged me up, "Don't do this to me Caleb! Do not lose yourself here! I need you! Do you hear me?! I need YOU!"
I shook my head, Kit Kat was right, that was really selfish of me. I had to stop moping around, I had to get us out of here.
To my side, the zombie from earlier was already on the ground, its mouth slightly open and its blood shot eyes filled with surprise, blood was oozing out from its forehead as a saw a part where the blood was flowing out from that open wound. My gaze then turned to Kit Kat and there she was, holding her kitchen knife filled with zombie blood.
I gaped at her, amazed. "You-you killed it?" I asked.
She just rolled her eyes. "C'mon Caleb! Wake up!" She ordered, sounding irritated, and then Kit Kat twisted my head towards my side. Who knew that was what it took for my whole body to freeze?
Truth is and was, we were surrounded, we were in the middle of these things and a lot of those other zombies were still coming towards here, deathly hunger flashed in their lifeless faces.
I swallowed whatever saliva that was left in my mouth because seriously, my mouth was just as dry as ever.
They growled and somehow in unison, they took their time on walking towards us, and well, that really annoyed me because they had all the luxury in the world to do that anyway.
"Kit Kat," I breathed as we both took a step backwards, our bodies wanting nothing but to cower in fear and panic. My stomach twisted, making me feel ever more nauseous, dear Lord, I don't know how to get out of this situation. They're all around us and I can't seem to find a way out of this.
She gripped my hand and I held it back, somehow preparing myself for our ends. I didn't want to die, but I had no choice, we were surrounded and I don't think I would be able to talk these dumbos out from eating us all up raw. Geez, if we do die though, hopefully I would be too dead to feel the stinging pain and smell that stench that meant I was in a better place already.
The rain started to lessen, now turning into a drizzle. But, it was still cold and it didn't really change the fact that all I could do was shiver in fright, as my whole body was already drenched in the rain.
They were nearing and all I can ever do is take another step backwards. Time seemed to slow down as their mouths opened, blood dripping at the sides of their mouths, their bloodshot eyes wide with heads twisted in glee. And who wouldn't? Their meal was in front of them, poised and ready to get eaten. If only I could find a way out of here, I'll take my chances even if it will be the most absurd way out of here. I took in a deep breath as my heart started to thump hard against my chest.
Think Caleb, you can't just die here without fighting them. Besides, these things deserved a fight before they take me anyways. My eyesight started to shift towards anything, anything that would be able to safe me from them.
