It was still raining, and even if walking under this freaking storm seemed totally absurd when the car broke down because there was no more gas, we had no choice but to go down and drag our feet and besides, we were here already, and we were quickly approaching the lake faster than I could've actually thought. So, I guess it was comepletely useless to complain about that, right?

Zombies were all around us, and the worst part to it was that even if there were tall trees, shrubs and thickets surrounding us, you'd know and you'd see how they just lurked on their corners.  Curiosity flashed on their faces as we walked on by.  Their foul odor penetrated my nose, but all I did was just take it all in.  The smell was still disgusting of course, and duh, it will always be disgusting it's just that well, I guess I was already used to it.

But then again, even if I was used to this awful smell, it was the look on their faces that still managed to rattle me, sure nothing was different, there was still blood, and their eyes were just as red as ever and their teeth seemed as unevenly sharp as usual...but it was the hunger in those dead, red eyes that reminded me to be as cautious as ever, because I knew, like so knew that if I dropped my walls, they'd devour me to the last bit, and hell they would.

We slowly trudged along, keeping ourselves as silent as ever, don't want an angry horde after us, would we? Our bags were bearing on our backs and I suppose it will only be the place that's dry by the time this effed up storm calms down, not to mention we were all officially wet and freezing, who knew Maine could get this cold during autumn?

And as weird as it all could get, Adrian was leading the way.  And the zombies...well, they were also around, but I outta say, they didn't pay us much attention as I thought they would.  I mean, c'mon, three lonely teenagers walking on their paths would like be enough to twist their heads to our sides.  But no, they didn't do that, instead they continued their aimless walking towards who-knows-where.

And well, if one does look at our way, they turn their heads away, as if they would rather starve on a piece on stick than taste us.  Totally odd right? And then here's Adrian walking calmly as he can, like those zombies didn't exist at all.  Geez, what is happening around here? Is it because of the rain? That it somehow masks the scent of a tasty human? Or is it that they've suddenly got colds and couldn't easily breathe through their malfunctioning noses?

"We're almost near," Adrian encouraged.

I just nodded even though I felt uneasiness creep into me.  There was little that I could do for me to be soothed and I guess it didn't really matter already, since I felt comforted that at least my girlfriend was right beside me, holding my hand so rigidly that my hand turned as white as sheet.  But I didn't care, I was happy to be here with my girlfriend anyway, safe and still in one piece.

"Adrian does know what he's doing..." Kit Kat whispered as her frail body shook against the cold rain.  I just wonder how I was able to miss on bringing an umbrella to our little trip to the lake.

"Yeah, he does..." I whispered back, eying my brother out.

A week and two days, that's how long it took  for all these things to happen in one blink.  I got bitten, Luther turned into an effed up zombie, we watch Mikael commit suicide and now this? Adrian's weird mood swings?

Seriously? Has everything normal in my life get replaced with these oddities? What next then? A bunch of cow aliens that not only abduct people but experiment on zombies too?

Woah, me and my imagination sometimes freaks the food out of my system sometimes, my stomach gave a groan I noticed, ugh, now I'm hungry...sheesh, why do I always place myself in these kinds of situations?
