I slowly opened my eyes, everything was still blurry, and the colors swirled making me close my eyes again, besides my head felt a little displaced, like sure my mind was still where it was supposed to be, but dang man, it felt like my brain didn't belong at where it my mind was for that matter.
I slowly breathed in, trying to calm my nerves until it finally managed to settle down. This time I opened my eyes again, glad that at least everything was now back in its place and was working well enough already, even though it was still a little hazy.
I groaned as I sat up, my hands finding my eyes and rubbing them. Suddenly I felt somebody sit beside me, but before I could jump back and probably scream a girl's scream, Kit Kat was already there, rubbing my back and I couldn't but help smile idiotically at her. It was nice actually, seeing Kit Kat safe and grinning back at me was like a drug that made me only want to come back for more.
It was then did I realize that I was sitting on a comfy bed, in a room where the walls were lined with worn out orange wallpapers with yellow bubbles as it's design. Kit Kat then placed her hand on my head, and surprisingly it was ice cold, and no, I'm wasn't joking. I then laughed when I saw the icepack, wait-why was there an icepack on my head, anyway?
I attempted to pull it out but Kit Kat frowned. "That bump on your head won't turn any less purple if you won't let the icepack stay on your head."
My eyebrows knitted. "Why do I need the icepack?" I asked, now facing her, confusion clear on my face.
Her frown deepened. "Don't remember? The dude that let us in hit you with his gun...on your head, and then, you blacked out."
I nodded my head slowly, the distant memory filling my mind. I suddenly growled. "Where is he?" I asked betweeen clenched teeth.
Kit Kat sighed, "Don't mind that, it practically took me a hard time to strap him down to his seat."
I then looked at her. "What happened exactly?" I asked.
She shrugged, her eyes tracing the line of my face, and then she gave a light laugh, took my hand and replaced mine with hers. So that by now, I was holding the icepack to my head. "Well, kicked him where it hurts the most and well, since I still had that kitchen knife...I placed it under his neck, making him surrender the gun, and the rest is history."
My eyes widened, wow, my girl friend was totally awesome. Beautiful and violent, who could ask for more?
"I want to talk to him," I said.
Kit Kat raised an eyebrow. "Now?" She asked, her blue eyes locking with mine.
"Yeah, it...just doesn't fit, y'know." I murmured. "What's a house doing in the middle of this place anyway? It's quite obvious that it was set here on purpose...for what reason, I do not know. Somehow though, I also have a feeling that it's connected to that government boat...the boat," I said, my voice trailing towards a lonely whisper.
Kit Kat's eyes then watered, a tear slid off her cheek and it was then did I realize that my tears were falling too. My heart was suddenly crushed as I know remembered why I felt incomplete, why I was missing somebody somehow.
"Adrian's not here...is he?" I asked quietly, feeling the bear weight of the world crashing on my shoulders...Adrian, my brother, my only family aside from Kit Kat...they took him from me. They took him from me!
Kit Kat just nodded her head, her trembling hands now wrapping around my hollow chest. "I'm sorry," She whispered.
I exhaled, not believing the weight of those words. No, it can't be...this was not happening.
