The Last Five Standing (Summer Battle of 2014)

(PLEASE READ THIS, GUYS. I AM GOING TO MAKE THIS BRIEF AND DIRECT, SO DON’T SKIP. WHATEVER QUESTIONS YOU WILL HAVE, WHICH ANSWERS CAN CLEARLY BE FOUND IN THIS SECTION, WILL NOT BE ENTERTAINED. PLEASE READ WITH UNDERSTANDING. LET’S PRACTICE DISCIPLINE.)

This is not just any ordinary writing contest that you see in Wattpad. This contest focuses on a writer’s forte – for his/her writing skills to be enhanced.  For the old members in Wattpad, you should, by now, know in which genre you excel. By now, you should have already known what you really want to write, and in what genre you would want to be known for. And as for the new members, you should also have a vision on which part or section of the bookstores you would want your book (and your name) to appear in the future.

This contest will only cater to 5 genres: ACTION, MYSTERY, HORROR, HISTORICAL FICTION, and CHILDREN’S FICTION (which will also include Inspirational and Spiritual themes). As you can see, Romance was not included. That is because we want to give way to other genres that should also be recognized.

This is the general idea of how this contest will go:

FIRST ROUND: AUDITION

There’s only one audition piece per user. And each user should already decide on what genre (of the five genres) he/she would want to compete in. Either he/she passes an entry under ACTION, MYSTERY, HORROR, HISTORICAL FICTION, or CHILDREN’S FICTION.

(This will be discussed further on the Mechanics)

 

ELIMINATION ROUNDS

After all the audition entries have been posted, we will have the cut-off. The initial plan is to only get the top 15 of each genre to proceed to the next rounds (which will total to 75 entries), but this can be altered depending on the total number of entries submitted.

After the cut-off, that’s the time that we will start the elimination until there would only be 1 remaining contestant in each genre (5 contestants all-in-all). And these 5 contestants will be declared as the winners.

(This will be discussed further when we reach the Elimination Round already.)

 

 We can say that this is 5-contests-in-one.

The projected end of this contest will be anytime in June. Hopefully, it wouldn’t extend. But I’m confident that this contest will end on the desired date if requirements are to be met on time.
