"Because I love you, Emma."

Emma stood there with a blank expression on her face. She had no idea how to react. Did she have feelings for him? Yes. Did she love him? She had no idea. She loved Neal, and she still wasn't quite over him yet. So how was she supposed to love Killian?

"I-I um..." Emma responded. She had no idea what to say.

"It's okay Emma, you don't have to say anything right now," Killian said even though Emma could tell he was upset by her reaction.

"Why?" She asked him.

"What?" He responded, confused.

"Why did you have to fall for me? I'm your student. We have a perfectly good friendship, why did you have to do this?" Emma asked, getting angry now.

"Why are you getting so angry?" Killian responded, "you told me that you wanted to know!"

"Yeah I know, but I didn't think you would say that," Emma said, "I need some time to think, Killian."

"Alright that is fair enough, but you let me know when you have figured out whatever this is," he replied. Emma bowed her head to the ground, and nodded her head.

"I'll see you later Emma," Killian said. She looked up to see a very sad and disappointed looking Killian.

"Bye," she replied in a whisper. Killian walked out of the house whilst staring at the ground. 'I never should of said anything' he thought. 'How could I actually think that a student could love me.'

Mary Margaret and David walked into the room once Killian had left. "Are you okay Emma?" Mary Margaret asked her.

"I don't really know. Now that Neal is back, I don't know what to think," Emma replied. She thought she was over him. Killian actually helped her to stop thinking about him for a little bit, but now he is back. 'what the hell am I supposed to do' she thought.

"Just follow your heart Emma, it always knows best," Mary Margaret said. Emma gave her a little smile.

"Thanks," Emma replied, "seriously. Both of you, thank you so much for everything." Emma, Mary Margaret, and David all went in for a group hug. This was a family, one that Emma only ever dreamed of having.

Emma went back to her room, and decided to just relax for a bit. She laid down on her bed, and turned on her TV. She flicked the channel to a local news station.

They were talking about how they just found James today, and the fight he got in with Killian. They showed the police taking him away, and how the trial would start up again in three days.

It was finally time for Mary Margaret and David to legally be Emma's parents. Emma knew it wouldn't fail this time, and she was so excited.

As Emma was trying to relax and think about things with Killian, he was at home. He had just arrived, and as soon as he walked into his house he grabbed the nearest object and threw it against the wall.

He then grabbed a chair and threw that against a wall which had a mirror on it. The glass shattered, and pieces went flying all around his living room.

He stomped into his bedroom, and started pacing back and forth. Then he noticed something sitting on his dresser, and stopped. He slowly walked over and grabbed the little silver band in-between his fingers. He ran his finger over the sapphire jewel that was in the middle of it.

He then grabbed a chain from his brother's old dog tags that he gave to him, and put the ring on it. He would wear it forever. Whether Emma ended up loving him or not, he would never forget her. That was the only physical reminder he had of her.
