Emma woke up the next morning and went downstairs.
"Hi Emma!" Katherine said, like everything was normal. "Hi." Emma replied, then she brushed her hair and teeth, grabbed a pear and started to walk out. "Where are you going?" Katherine asked. "To the bus." Emma said simply, even though the bus didn't come for another 45 minutes.
Emma walked outside. The truth was she was either going one of 3 places. David and Mary Margaret's house, Killian's house, school, or all three. She decided to go to David and Mary Margaret first.
Emma knocked on the door. "Oh, hey Emma!" Mary Margaret said. "Hey." Emma replied. "What's up? Is something wrong?" David asked. "No, I just was going to stop and say hi before I go." Emma said. "Go where? Do you need a ride?" Mary Margaret asked. "Oh, no. I'm probably going to go to Killian's house." Emma replied. "Okay, walk safe!" David said. "Okay, bye David. See you at school Mary Margaret." Emma said. "Bye." They both said.
Emma walked to Killian's house and knocked on the door. "Hey, Emma. What's up?" He asked. "Nothing." Emma responded. "Is something wrong?" Killian asked. "Oh, no. Just saying hi." Emma said. "Oh, good." Killian said. "Here, come inside." Killian said, inviting her in.
Emma walked in and sat down at the counter to eat her pear. To be quite honest, though, she hated pears. "Want a real breakfast?" Killian asked. "Uh, no, I'm good. Except, do you have any other fruit?" Emma asked. "Yeah, apples, oranges, and grapes." Killian answered. "I'll have any one of those. I hate pears." Emma said. Killian grabbed an apple and tossed it at Emma. "Thanks." Emma said, catching it.
Killian started making coffee, and he asked Emma, "Why aren't you at your house?" He asked. Emma replied, "To spend the least amount of time with my mom as possible." "Oh, okay then." Killian said. "By any chance is there anything on your mind?" Killian asked. "How'd you know?" Emma said. "I can tell." He answered.
"I don't want to go back to therapy. For starters, the doctor is so rude. He straight up tells me I'm insane. Plus, you don't seem normal when you tell people you go to therapy." Emma said. "First of all, you need a new therapist. Second, and I mean this in the best possible way, you aren't normal. Finally, I will make sure you don't go to therapy." Killian said. "Thanks." Emma said. "Oh, shoot, I have to go now!" Emma said. "Okay, need a ride?" Killian asked. "No, I'm walking." Emma answered. "Here, wait. I'll walk with you." He said. "Okay, you sure?" Emma asked. "Yeah, I'll just make my coffee to go." He said, pouring his coffee into a thermos, and walking outside.
On their walk to school Emma said, "You know what I just realized? We don't know each other that well." Emma said. "What do you mean?" Killian asked. "Well, we know each other's stories and personalities, but we don't know things like favorites, or hobbies, and stuff like that." Emma said. "Oh, I guess you're right." Killian said.
So, they played Desert Island for the rest of the walk. They bonded over top 3 books and actors.
They got to school and went into his classroom. It was still early, so Mary Margaret was not at school yet, so Emma stayed in Killian's classroom.
"Hey, Emma." Killian said seriously. "Yeah?" She asked. "I won't let you go to therapy, and even I fail at that, I will make sure you get a sane therapist, and on that believes you." Killian said. "Thanks." Emma said, smiling.Later at lunch, Belle came up to Emma, and sat down with her. Ruby soon followed. "Uh, hey guys." Emma said. "Hey Emma!" They both said. Like they were friends. "How did the trial go?" They asked. As much as Emma wanted friends, and needed them right now, she knew they were fake. "Really?" Emma asked. "What?" Regina asked, walking over. "What a coincidence, you act like I don't exist, but then when something happens you all of a sudden want to talk to me?" Emma said. "It's not like that! How dare you?!" Regina said. "Whatever." Emma said, walking away.
