Emma and Killian got up early and got ready.

Then went to the jail to see James.

"Are you nervous?" Killian asked. Emma shook her head. "No, not really." She said. Lies. "Emma..?" He asks again. "Why would I be nervous? It's only my dad who abused me wanting to have a friendly chat." Emma says.

We get to the jail and Emma saw James behind bars. "Emma!" He says. "Hi James." She says quietly. "Why so informal? Call me 'Dad.'" He says. "You're not my dad." She say. "Aw, and here I thought we could have a friendly conversation." James says. She rolled her eyes. "No, you didn't think that would happen. So, why am I here?" Emma asks.

"Well, you drove here.." He says, sarcastically. "Cut the crap, James. Why did you ask to see her?" Killian steps up. "Oh, I see you're still a little girl who sleeps with her teacher for her grade." James says. "Shut up." Killian said. "Why are you here? I only asked for Emma. Besides, what if you get caught?" James asked. "Okay, James, why the hell did you ask for me?" Emma asks him. "Emma, Emma, Emma, watch your language young lady." James said.

"I just wanted you to know I'm responsible for what happened to that irresponsible little school teacher." James said. "What?" Emma asked. Killian walked over to James's cell and grabbed his collar through the bars.

"What the hell did you do to Mary Margaret?!" He asked. "Well it wasn't me . . . exactly. Calm down lover boy." Killian loosened his grip on James' shirt. "Explain." Killian said, angrily.

"Alright, alright. Only since I'm already in jail for most of my life." James said, throwing his hands up in sarcastic defeat. "I had someone crash into Mary Margaret's car on purpose." James said. "Who?!" Emma asked. "Why would I tell you? He's still got a lot he's yet to do." James said.

"Tell us! Now!" Emma said. "Oh, feisty are we? Don't demand your father like that, Emma. It's impolite, and quite frankly, petty." James said. "You're not my father." Emma said.

"Well, the DNA begs to differ." James replied. "Get out." He added. "We're not leaving until you tell us who you set up." Killian said. "Oh, is someone upset now?" James asked. "I'm terrified." He added. "Killian, let's go, we'll come back later." Emma said, trying to avoid drawing attention to this. "Oh, is someone upset because nobody can know he actually got a girlfriend? Even though it's all fake." James taunted. "Says the one in jail." Killian shot back.

"Killian, can we please just go?" Emma asked. "Fine." Killian replied, leading Emma out the door.

They went back to Killian's house in silence.

They sat down on the couch and Killian had an unreadable expression.

"Killian? Are you okay?" Emma asked him. "Yeah, I'm fine." He answered blankly. "Killian what's wrong?" Emma tried again. "Nothing, Emma. I'm fine." He said again.

"Yeah, you're right. I'm sorry, you probably hate me now because I dragged you into this stupid situation." Emma said. "What?" Killian asked. "Yeah, and your job and your-" Emma started to say but was cut off. "No, Emma, Emma, I could never hate you. I put myself in this position, I chose to do this." Killian said.

"Then why are you upset? Did James do something or say something?" Emma asked, hoping for a real answer. "Emma, I'm upset because this isn't normal!" Killian said. Emma's face fell. "What? So you, are upset that I dragged you into this situation." Emma said. "No, Emma I'm not.. it's not like that..." Killian said. "Then what is it?" Emma asked.

"Emma, it's because I can't tell anyone that we're together. I can't give you a normal relationship and that kills me. It kills me that we can't tell anyone, it kills me we can't hang out in public and not in secret. It kills me that we can't hang out without being scared of getting caught." Killian said, sadness dripping with every word. "Killian, it's okay, I'm okay with it. I like what we have." Emma said.

"No, Emma it's not okay. You deserve more than I can give you. I can't take you to dinner or a movie or anything. And I should be able to do that and I can't. I can't do anything for you. We only talk to each other at my house, or in my class before school, and we occasionally get ice cream but that's it, Emma. We can't do anything that you deserve." Killian told her. Emma was speechless. He cared a lot. "Killian.." She said. "No, no. No talking." Killian said, pressing a soft kiss against her lips. Emma pulled away slowly and smiled.

Emma's phone rang.

"Hey." She answered. Killian watched her intently, looking for what was happening. He watched her face fall and rise. "That's great!" She said. "Yeah, sure. See you then." She said and hung up.

"So? What is it, love?" Killian asked. "Oh, the lawyer, Alexandra, said she has some news about David and Mary Margaret trying to get custody of me. Apparently her and David want to meet at Granny's to talk about it more." Emma explained. "That's amazing!" Killian replied.

"Yeah, we have to get there soon though . . ." Emma said, getting up. "Right now?" Killian asked. "Yep," Emma nodded. "Fine," Killian groaned. Emma couldn't get over the fact that he was an adult but acted like a child going to the grocery store.

They went to Granny's and sat down with David and Alexandra.

"There are some complications," Alexandra said.
