"Because I want my daughter back."
Emma just stood there completely stunned by what just happened. She thought her mother was out of her life forever. She never expected her to show up at her boyfriend's front door.
"Why would you want me back?" Emma asked her in anger. "You never showed any interest in being my mother before."
"Things changed Emma. I realised the mistakes I made," she replied not convincing Emma at all.
"No! You didn't realise any "mistakes" because in your brain you made none! You just came here to send my boyfriend to jail and make my life a living hell like it always has been!" Emma yelled bubbling up in anger. Killian took a little step forward and placed his hand on the small of Emma's back to comfort her.
"I'm just trying to protect you Emma! What you're doing is illegal!" Katherine responded.
"I don't care, because I love Killian and he loves me! That is all that matters! Why can't you just see that I'm happy where I am now. With Killian, David, and Mary Margaret by my side and you in some other random country!" Emma said. Katherine's face fell. She backed away a couple of steps from the door frame.
"Your father is very disappointed in you Emma," Katherine replied. Killian instantly clenched his jaw and balled his hands up into fists. He hated any mention of James after what he did to Emma.
"You're still talking to him?" Emma asked. She couldn't believe that Katherine was still convince that James was a "good guy."
"He's my husband. Of course I'm still talking to him," Katherine said.
"He's a toxic person. He's been manipulating you for years, and you haven't realized it. If you really want me back . . . divorce Dad. Divorce him and never speak to him again," Emma replied. She had thought of that right on the spot, but she meant it. She wanted her old mother back. The one who cared for her, and wouldn't take away the love of her life.
"Are you serious?" Katherine asked dumbfounded.
"I am very serious," Emma responded. Katherine just stood there staring at Emma for a bit. She was considering Emma's offer. She knew she had definitely changed, but James is her husband. She has spent practically her whole life with him. He was in jail though, so she probably wouldn't see him again. Her daughter on the other hand was right there. She could have her old life back before James started manipulating her.
"I'll do it," Katherine stated. Emma's eyes widened in shock. She didn't expect Katherine to actually accept the offer.
"Really?" Emma asked. She couldn't believe that Katherine would actually divorce him. She had told her to do it so many times in the past and she never listened.
"I mean it Emma. If it means getting my daughter back," Katherine responded. Emma gave her a little smile. Maybe Katherine did change.
"I'll visit him tomorrow in jail and tell him," Katherine said. Emma nodded her head and gave Katherine another smile.
"Thank you Mom," she replied, "does this mean that you're also going to leave me and Killian alone?"
"Yeah, I can see how happy he makes you," Katherine said. Emma looked up at Killian to notice he was already looking at her. They gave each other a little smile and Emma snuggled into his side.
"Thank you," Emma said again. Katherine nodded her head and backed up a little bit.
"I'll call you tomorrow to tell you how it goes with James," Katherine replied.
"Okay, it was nice seeing you as yourself again Mom. I've missed you," Emma said.
"I've missed you too Emma. I'll talk to you tomorrow," Katherine replied.
