(Mikeys's P.O.V.)

I had to do the right thing and tell Brian what was going on. It had to be done either way.

And that's why I sit here on the bleachers with him after school, cool wind blowing over us.

"I didn't really want to have to say any of this," I sigh, running a hand through my hair.

"Well its good you're telling me and I'm not just finding out through rumors and stuff," he shrugs, lips pulling up into a smirk.

"Yeah, there's the upside," I laugh.

Andy talks with Nick at the bottom of the bleachers. Eli was still upset that things hadn't worked out in his favor.

"What exactly did you want to tell me?" Brian asks softly, staring down at Andy.

"Well you've probably already figured it out, but Andy and I..." I trail off.

"Decided to try again?" he sighs.

"We're not really together," I answer.

"But its still something," he shrugs, big eyes sparkling.

I nod and look down at the spaces between the bleachers. I can hear Andy laugh loudly at something said and a warm feeling spreads itself out inside my chest.

"I'm sorry about this," I say.

"We were never together," he snorts.

I guess I was just attracted to people who never wanted anything serious.

"It would have been nice to be together in the long run," he says, looking at me.

I would tell him about my long run. How I'd be in college and I'd play college football. How I'd be happy with Andy and I'd know just how my life would have played out as I worked my way through college.

But I don't. I always thought I knew what and who I wanted. I didn't. I never did. Andy drove me off track, threw me off a cliff face first. It made my skin itch.

"We probably won't talk again after this, so have a good life, Mikey. Thanks for being patient though," Brian says, standing and stretching.

"Bye," I mumble as he begins to walk down the bleachers slowly.

"Wait, you're the bottom right?" he asks abruptly, turning around.

"What?" I ask.

"He's the top in your relationship, right?" he asks, smirking.

I look down at Andy and he's already smiling at me as he talks to some girl. I look back at Brian.

"Uh, yeah," I answer sheepishly.

"That's weird," he snickers. "And really hot."

I sputter after him as he goes down the bleachers quickly. He waves shyly at Andy and Andy only gives him a head nod before continuing his conversation.

Its then I notice how sweaty I've become, the sun beating down on me. I couldn't believe it was almost summer already.

"C'mon, Mikey!" Nick yells from below.

I shield my eyes to look down at them before going to meet them.

"Finally," I sigh, throwing myself face down onto Andy's bed. His room was cool and comfortable. His white comforter felt fluffy around my face and body.
