33. Leaving for College

Alana's P.O.V.

*Skips to move in day*

Today is the day. I finally get to go to college. I am beyond excited. New dorms. New education. New people. I can't wait to meet my roommate, and see my dorm. For the next 4 years, it's all about me and my future. I walk into my room to the last few boxes. My room is completely empty and I'm sad to be honest. This has been my room ever since I was 5.. Now I'm 17. I finish packing my room and head over to NOU with my family.

*Skips the trip*

It was about a 2 hour drive, but I'm finally here. My home for the next 4 years. I go to sign in and get my keys to my dorm. 'Hmmm Room 34 in Building B, Cool' I thought. My family and I grab as much stuff as I could and bring it to my dorm. Once all my boxes are in my dorm it's time to say goodbye.

"Well Alana.. I'm gonna miss you" My brother said. He's 15 and we've always had a good relationship.

"Same here brother," I hugged him. Of course I started to cry, I mean I was goodbye to my family. I said bye to my little sister, mom, older brother, and dad. Then they left and I was on my own. My roommate wasnt here yet, so I decided to go walk around campus.

Jack's P.O.V.

"Alright well bye mom.." I said sadly.

"I'm gonna miss you son," She started to cry,"I remember changing your diapers and now you're in college."

"Thanks mom for everything but I'll be ok and if I need anything I'll call you and visit as much as I can," I said hugging her.

"Ok Jack, be careful and be safe. Love you."

"Love you too mom.. Bye."

"Bye." She smiled, waved, and walked away. Jack and I are roommates so we unpacked a little.

"Dude we're college men!" Jack said.

"I know parties every night and meeting new girls," I said putting on my shades and acting all cool.

"Speaking of girls.. Dude what's up with Alana and Leigh?"

"I don't know.. I haven't seen Alana yet but I talked to Leigh.. I think I'm going to start a relationship with Leigh," I told him. I've known Leigh for 6 months now and I really like her. I want to be able to call her mine.

"So what about Alana?" He said surprised.

"I guess she's just another part of my pass now.."

"Woah dude.. You loved her and I know you still do," He said. He does have a point.

"I do love Alana and I always will, I just love her differently.." I told him. "I'm going to go check out the campus, be back in a bit." With that I left. I was walking around the campus and checking everything out. It's so cool here. I looked over at the fraternity houses and I saw Alana.. She was checking them out. I wanted to say hi to her but I honestly don't want to see her anymore. I want to forget about her. I want to because when I start a relationship with Leigh she can't be a distraction.

"Jack.. Hey!" I turned around to see who that was. It was Leigh.

"Leigh! Hey. How are you?" I ran to her and hugged her tightly.

"I'm great yeah! So how are you liking the campus so far?" She smiled at me.

"Oh man, it's so cool here!"

"Awesome! That's great. Your gonna live it here," She told me.

"Um tonight, do you possibly want to get dinner with me?" I asked her a little shy. This would be our 4th date, and also the day I'm going to ask her out. I run back to the dorm and tell Jack all about it.

Alana's P.O.V.

I meet my roommate about 3 hours later. I went around campus and it's beautiful here. I'm so excited to finally be a college student. I saw Jack but I couldn't talk to him for some reason. It's like something was telling me to stay away from him. Oh well. I'm not even gonna focus on him. I'm here for other things and he's not one of them.
