44. Hardest Goodbye

Alana's P.O.V.

Well today is marks the end of the month.. Sam is leaving today in a couple hours. Right now he is packing up his dorm and saying goodbye to all his friends and teachers. The Jacks and I are going to say goodbye right before he leaves. Right now Jack Johnson is helping him pack up his dorm. I'm trying not think about him leaving too much. I don't think he realizes that I can't handle long distance relationships.

** A Couple Hours Later **

Jack Johnson's P.O.V.

"Hey can you grab that for me?" Sam asked pointing to an empty box.

"Uh sure man," I told him handing him the box.

"So this is it," I say as we pack up the last box.

"Yup.."

"Hey guys the truck is here," Jack says. We all take as many things as we could and bring them down. I take out my phone and call Alana.

"Hello," She says.

"Hey, um the truck is here and we're packing it up so you can come down and meet us at in the parking lot," I say.

"Um alright I'll be down in about 5 minutes," She says. I can hear the sadness in her voice.

"Ok cool and hey everything is gonna be fine," I try to reassure her.

"Hopefully," She says as she hangs up the phone. Wow. I feel so bad for her. Her relationships always end so badly. From being cheated on to moving away. I hope one day she can find someone who will treat her way better.

"Hey Alana will be here in about 5 minutes," I tell Sam. He smiles and looks down. This was not going to go well for either of them.

Alana's P.O.V.

I grabbed a jacket and headed down to the parking lot. I'm not so sure I was ready for this. Saying goodbye and having him move away. Right before I walked up to them I took a deep breath and reassured myself.

"Well it's all packed and ready to go. I'll give you a little time to say goodbye," His parents said. I watched as he said goodbye to both Jacks. Their friendship was so valuable and I loved it. They were done saying their goodbyes but they stayed.

"Hey.." He said as he walked up to me.

"Hey.. So this is it," I said looking down.

"Hey don't be sad babe. I'm not dying," He said cupping my cheeks.

"But you're leaving."

"Don't think negatively. Don't think of this as a goodbye.. Think of this as more of a see you later," He smiled at me. We then hugged for what seemed like forever. I saw both Jacks taking pictures of us hugging. 'What goofs' I thought.

"I'm gonna miss you so much," He said.

"I'm gonna miss you too," I said. I started to cry. This was hard saying goodbye.

"Sam," I started,"I'm afraid this is where is gonna have to end."

"I would fight right now to keep our relationship going but I'm afraid you're right," He said. Now he started to cry as well.

"Aw Sam please don't cry," I hugged him even tighter.

"This is way harder than I thought it might've been," He said.

"Um Sam we got to go your flight is leaving soon and we still got to get to the airport," His dad said. He responded and we never broke our hug.

"Never forget me ok?" He said.
