Everything in my mind was empty.
A strike of fear pulsed through my veins the second my eyes fluttered open. I didn't know where I was or how I got into this creaky, old bed. My fingers grazed against the skin on my face, touching the smooth skin that didn't feel like it belonged to me. The fear grew when I sat up on the bed. Unfamiliarity scared me more than the loss of my own being
I looked around the room, wracking my blank mind for answers. Not one thing stuck out. Nothing here told me who I was or where I was. My body started to tremble before I could make out anything useful. Fear pulsed through my skin, begging me to find an answer to set it free.
A soft knock came on the door, nearly scaring me more than I already was.
"Come in," I called. I jumped at my voice not expecting the Irish twang.
The door creaked open, a young girl revealing herself from the other side. Her long black hair swished behind her as she walked in. She stared at me with terrifying black eyes that held many emotions. The girl bit her bottom lip softly while fiddling with her shirt sleeves.
"I'm gonna assume that you're confused right now. That's perfectly normal for the state you're in. You lost your memory a couple days back and you're only resurfacing now. I'll tell you the basic information. Your name is Anti, you are originally from Ireland but you moved to the United States a few months back, you are sixteen years old, and of right now live by yourself."
Before she could open her mouth again, I cut in. "Why can't I remember anything?"
"A few days ago you were involved in an accident. Unfortunately, you lost your memory after hitting your head against a blunt object. You slipped into a short coma until now."
She seemed to be telling the truth as of she showed no signs of lying to me. Since she seemed trustworthy, I decided to ask her a few more questions.
"What's my full name?"
"Antisepticeye McLoughlin."
"Do you know how I got here?"
"I found you alongside a river. A few of my friends and I brought you back here to get better."
"Why am I here?"
She sighed, "To make this simple for you, you are here to become an assassin. I work for a training facility that trains regular people like you to become top notched assassins. My boss said that after you wake up I have to explain to you that you'll never be able to go back to your old life. If you still had your memory then you probably could, but since you don't, you can't."
I frowned, "What is your name?"
"Fox, I will be your trainer."
"What am I doing today?" I asked Fox.
"Well, I'm going to start training you on some simple routines to get started. Your first day will be today since we are tight on time. Every day you will train for approximately eight hours, sometimes more. You'll train for about two months before we send you to a school. There you will learn more about the people. How they act, move, think, etc. That will last for five months. Then finally, you graduate and become an assassin that will go on missions with the other assassins. Now please follow me to the training area to begin your first day."
She walked out the door again, beckoning me to follow her. Hesitantly, I followed her. We walked through corridors that seemed to go around in a huge maze. Fox looked back every once in a while to see if I was still following her. She lead me down a long corridor to a dead end hall. All that was down there was a door with a guard guarding it. He opened the door, allowing us both to pass.
