Grey and black clouds rolled in the gloomy sky. Thunder rumbled in the distance, letting out a low, threatening grumble. Small pebbles bounced around the sidewalk. Shifting as shuffling feet went past them. Droplets of rain tumbled from the heavens, falling to the ground with little taps. Only a small drizzle at the very moment. The rain fell with grace, not wanting to harm the world underneath it.

A figure trudged down the sidewalk, a lonely aura surrounding them. The sound of feet scraping against the pavement echoed through the area. As the rain started to fall harder, any sound from the demon erased. Slowly, the rain turned to a pounding pour. It fell to the ground with aggression. Taking out any anger that was built up and transferring it to the stone below.

I walked down the sidewalk with earbuds screwed into my ears. Music swirled in my head, making my body walk to the beat. The rain seemed to have the same effect, it fell to the sweet, enchanting rhythm. Streams of water danced across my pale skin. It curled around my lips and hung off my nose. My eyelashes were logged with water that only dripped off only to hit my cheeks.

I found myself walked miles away from my home. Even farther away from the high school that was vacant for the evening. My feet wandered away from the social buzz of the town. As I stepped farther away from the commotion, my mind started to linger. Dark thoughts wandered in the walls that sealed them from the outside. My mind started to drag down at the possibility that these thoughts were truthful. I found myself ignoring the slow-paced music to pay attention to these thoughts.

As my feet touched the slippery ground my thoughts grew darker and darker. Tears leaked from my tear ducts and slid down my flushed cheeks. I started to shake underneath the rain. Cold water seeped into my bones and washed away any warmth that was previously locked away. As the tears flowed so did the water that rushed in front of me.

There was no memory of how I got here. I don't remember finding a bridge with rusty railings and chipped concrete. All I remember is my body hanging over the edge, my hands gripping onto the creaky railing which for now, kept me alive. The rain continued to poor, mixing in with the rushing water that hung below my feet.

"Anti?"

That deep buttery voice quivered on the other side of the railing. No cars were around, not a single one in sight. My grip tightened around the railing, my feet inched closer to the edge. I didn't look behind me, I didn't even acknowledge the voice. My eyes were trained on the water, the water that is going to consume me.

"Anti."

Again, that voice leaked through my walls. It seeped through the earbuds that no longer played heartwrenching music. Rust fluttered to the ground as my grip continued to tighten on the railing.

"You're not up here by choice, right? The world has put your mind against you, and it's brought you here."

My eyes fluttered as I watched the water. The tears rushing down my face continued to fall nonstop. I found my grip loosening and my body leaning towards the water.

"You don't have to do this, Anti."

Once more my grip tightened. My thoughts were battling against each other. A war went inside my head and I wanted it to stop. They tormented me to the point I wanted to jump to end them. It happened quickly, but there was this force next to me.

"Mind if I join you?"

Heat brimmed my hand. I could see the figure out of the corner of my eye, but I didn't turn.

"It's dangerous here," I croaked.

"It doesn't matter. I'm here to be with you."

I stayed silent, my eyes still trained on the water below me.
