Chapter 28

Something shifted from underneath me. The warmth that was previously next to me disappeared. Lips kissed my forehead then footsteps echoed through the room. I whined sitting up in Dark's bed. The room was empty completely vacant of another demon. Dark's alarm clock showed that it was close to 7. I groaned and flopped back down on the bed. The door creaked open and a shadow entered the room. Dark laid back down next to me kissing my lips. I smiled kissing him back. 

"My mom made bacon for breakfast," he whispered. Dark grabbed my waist pulling me closer to him. He grinned at me stealing a few kisses. 

"I want bacon," I grumbled rubbing my eyes. He gasped pulling me into a hug. 

"Your morning voice is so cute!" He squealed. I chuckled pulling away a little bit. 

"Yours is better. It's all deep and sexy, ya know?" I mumbled. He laughed kissing my forehead. We both pulled away and made our way downstairs. 

Vicky stood by the stove wrapped up in a bathrobe. She turned over pieces of bacon before letting them cook. Dark and I sat down at the table patiently waiting for her to bring over the bacon. I leaned my head on Dark's shoulder closing my eyes for a little bit. He kissed my nose making me open my eyes again. His sparkly black and red eyes gazed into my blue, green, and white, green, ones. The sound of a plate being set on the table snapped us out of the daze. Vicky placed a plate full of bacon in front of Dark and me. 

"Eat up," she said walking back to her room. Dark and I glanced at each other grinning. 

For about 5 minutes we devoured the bacon. The last piece sat on the plate waiting to be eaten. I picked it up holding it for Dark to bit onto. He looked at me cautiously but did so. Of course, I bit the other end. We both ate the piece of bacon till we reached the middle where our lips met. He smiled into our kiss with the aroma of bacon surrounding us. 

I put the plate in the sink to clean up later and walked into my room to get dressed. As I was putting on my black skinny jeans Dark walked into my room. He blushed and walked back out. I giggled continuing to put on my pants. Seconds later he walked back into my room while I was pulling on a shirt. This time he smirked and sat down on my bed watching me. I fussed with my hair, brushed my teeth, threw on a pair of shoes before I was completely ready to go. 

Dark and I held hands while walking to school. A few people ran past us trying to be on time to school. Itch ran past pulling Rot along with him.

"If you didn't make me feed Yatt we wouldn't be late!" Itch yelled.

"It's not my fault you're slow!" Rot yelled back. The continued to bicker while running. Dark and I chuckled at their cuteness. 

Our group of friends was crowded around the gate talking. They all cheered when we approached making me confused. Uh, it's the first week of February big deal? I guess. Dark smiled pulling me up to the group. 

"Happy one week till your birthday day!" They all cheered. I looked at them like they were insane but still, I smiled. They remembered my birthday! Slowly I walked around giving them hugs and high-fives. The bell signaling school starts rang ruining our fun. 

Dark and I intertwined our fingers and walked to our first class.

By lunch, I was exhausted. Dark was basically dragging me down the hallway to the cafeteria. The whole time I complained that I wanted to go home. He just smiled and continued to drag me. When we did get to the cafeteria Dark just picked me up bridal style and carried me to the table. During that time I cuddled into Dark's chest spending as much time as I can in the moment. He set me down and sat down at the table. Like normal, I sat down next to him. 

Lucius was grinning at us wiggling his eyebrows. I blushed and covered my face. Dark chuckled pulling me close to him. He kissed my hand making me peek at him. 

After lunch Dark and I walked together to our last classes of the day.
