The person who answered the door was surprisingly not Evan, but A small, blonde woman. "You must be Connor!! I'm Heidi, Evans mom."

She stuck out her hand for him to shake "As you already know, I'm Connor Murphy." She grasped his hand firmly and shook it. Before inviting him inside. The house was small in size, but large in heart. There were tons of pictures on the walls, From Evan standing with Jared, looking like they had just met, to Heidi as a kid, staring into the distant sunset.

"I'm gonna go get Evan, he's up in his room." Heidi said before running off. Connor could hear her feet pounding on the stairs as she ran up them. Connor stood awkwardly for a few seconds before taking a seat on the small arm chair near the tv.

He looked at one of the pictures. It was A little Evan maybe 9 holding up an award for ASL it looked like a certificate. He had A gap in his two front teeth and was grinning like a mad man. Gosh he was adorable. Connor just wanted to pick him up and cuddle him forever.

Heidi came back down the stairs, Evan tailing close behind. Evan gave Connor a small shy smile before signing "Hi." Connor smiled back.

"Hi"

Heidi looked between the two blushing boys and gave Connor a knowing look. "You boys better not get into any trouble" she signed, winking.

"I would never!" Connor signed playfully grasping his heart with offense. Evan rolled his eyes at him.

"Well I have the nightshift so I'll be seeing you boys later." Heidi said as she headed to the door, grabbing her bag on the way out. She was wearing blue hospital scrubs. The door shut and Evan turned to Connor.

"What do you want to do?"

"I thought we were going to work on the project?" Connor signed. Evan gave him A look that said 'bitch please', Causing him to burst out laughing. Evan smiled at that.

"We could watch a movie?" Connor suggested. Looks like he suggested right, judging by the way Evans face lit up.

"I just found a new nature documentary I've been meaning to watch!!" Evan signed, nearly jumping out of his seat. Not what Connor had been thinking, but if it meant getting to see that face on Evan again. . .he would do it anytime.

"Sure!! Sounds cool." Connor signed excitedly.

"I'll go grab the popcorn." Evan signed before moving into the small kitchen to dig around in the pantry.

"What's the movie name?" Connor shouted into the kitchen. Evan didn't respond. Connor got up and moved into the kitchen saying again "hey what was the movie agai-"

Evan was searching through the pantry for popcorn completely unaware. Connor wanted to smack himself on the head for his mistake. Evan was deaf, of course he couldn't hear him. Connor tapped Evan on the shoulder. Evan turned. He had a little flour on his cheek from the spilled bag in the pantry, but Connor didn't have the heart to tell him.

And maybe because it was so adorable, like everything about him.

"What's the movie?" He signed. Evan responded with the name of the new Disney nature one. Connor had been meaning to watch it.

Connor moved back into the living room and brought up the documentary Evan had saved. Only A few minutes later Evan came out with a large bowl of popcorn and set it on the small coffee table in front of them.

The movie started, and Connor was actually enjoying it a lot, surprisingly. When ever Evan would reach to get popcorn however he would move A little closer to Connor, until half through the movie he was practically on his lap.

Evan didn't move any closer. Connor didn't mind it. Not one bit. Towards the end Evan started to dose off, his head falling onto Connors shoulder. Connor moved his hand up to fiddle with Evans hair. Evan sighed.

If Connor had nothing else to look forward to in life than Evan, he would be okay living another year or two.
