I am writing a new book called Hiding

I'm Maia Shore. I have long brown hair that's a mix between wavy and straight. I have turquoise colored eyes and a few freckles. I'm 5' 4" and have an athletic body, due to my 'job'.

My sister is Hailey Shore. She has long blonde hair that is straight. She has identical eyes as mine but more freckles than me. She's 5' 2" and has an athletic body like mine, again, due to our 'job'.

Hailey and I live in Huntington Beach, California. We live in what's called The New World. Things are a lot different than how they used to be, mama tells us.

Every town, every city, every store and every building is separated in two halves; one for Red and one for Blue.

The Government separated the world into two groups to keep the peace. One is Red, the other is Blue. My family is a Blue.

When a baby is born, the doctors scan their fingerprints and tattoo it to the upper right part if their neck. It's either Red or Blue depending on what Separation you belong to.

There are strict rules for us to follow. Red's may not talk, touch, look at, or socialize with Blue's and vice versa. If the Government Guards catch you doing so, the punishment is death.

Hailey and I are kind of known throughout the whole city. We're known as The Renegades, or The Rebels. We go around dressed down in black leggings, boots, t-shirts and hats at night sneaking into any Red territory we can find. Then the task is simple: destroy it.

What happens when three boys move to Huntington Beach and put Hailey and Maia's rebellious acts to the test?
