Chapter Twelve - Pre-Birthday
Chloe's POV
"Wesley Trent!"
I jumped awake and sat upright quickly at the same time as Wes. We both stared at his mom who had a shocked look on her face. She then looked at me and sighed, looking relieved.
"Mom, it's not what you-" Wes started.
"No, no, I was just worried that it was one of those sophomores or juniors again. I'm fine if it's Chloe, get back to whatever you were doing," she said calmly.
Something that she said made me curious, not the part where she was practically suggesting that Wes and I should do 'it' but the fact when she said something about being worried that it was a sophomore or junior again. What was that supposed to mean?
"Mom!" Wes complained.
"What?"
"We weren't doing anything... like that," he said awkwardly.
"Oh, well then go back to sleep," she said walking out and closing the door.
"I am so terribly sorry," Wes said chuckling a little. I laughed with him.
"It's fine," I said stretching.
"So, what are you gonna do for your birthday tomorrow?" Wes asked smirking.
"Oh my gosh, I forgot about my birthday tomorrow!" I said fully awake now. Wes laughed.
"How could you forget about your 18th birthday?" He asked teasingly.
"What are you gonna get me?" I joked back.
"Coal," he said smirking even bigger.
"Whatever," I said pushing his arm. He laughed.
"Whatcha wanna do today?" Wes asked yawning.
"Birthday outfit shopping with the girls," I said standing up.
"Aw, what about me?" Wes fake whined.
"I don't know, what are you doing tomorrow?" I joked. He scowled at me and I laughed.
"Alright, what should we do today?" He asked changing the subject.
"Let's spend the day on the beach with everyone else," I suggested.
"With everyone else?" Wes whined again.
"Are you always this whiny in the morning?" I asked putting my hand on my hips and turning around to face him, putting my shirt down.
"Let's just go to the beach, you and me," he said smirking and getting out of bed. I turned around and pulled my jeans on. When I turned back around to face him he was already in front of me. He wrapped his arms around me and slipped his hands into my back pockets.
"Since we're, you know, a little closer than friends now," he continued, still smirking.
"I guess so," I said sighing obnoxiously as falling against his bare chest. "We should bring a picnic. Ooo, take me to a beach that nobody else really knows about, a less popular beach."
"You're really picky," Wes joked.
"I know," I said shrugging.
"Should we stop at your brothers house before we go? So you can change?" He asked me.
"Sure, I gotta grab my swimsuit anyways," I said wrapping my arms around his neck and leaning my cheek on his chest.
"Mmk," he said resting his chin in the top of my head. I sighed and breathed in his scent, closing my eyes. He started humming the song he sang to me last night. Then someone knocked on the door.
