Chapter Twenty-Two - Goodbye
Chloe's POV
*2 months later*
I put my last pair of shorts into my suitcase and started zipping it up. It almost didn't close, it was a lot more flu than it was when I first got here. I had gone shopping with the girls a lot.
Today was the day I went back home to Miami. It was August 17th, Jacob's 14th birthday. I was getting home around 8:00 pm Miami time.
Austin and I have been extremely distant. We only talk when it's forced, or when we need the other person to do something. Maria doesn't talk to me much either since she's almost always with Austin.
I've mostly been hanging out with Drew and Hailey. I want to see Keaton but Wes is usually always by him. Oh, and that brings another thing up.
Wes and I are 'forbidden' to talk to each other. There are times were we run into each other and offer a small smile to each other. He always looks so sad and guilty, like it was his fault.
"Chloe!" Austin yelled from downstairs.
"Coming!" I yelled back, tying my Vans and putting my L.A. SnapBack hat on to top off my black denim jeans shorts and my blue ombré crop top. I walked downstairs with my suitcase and backpack and met Austin in front of his car.
"You ready?" He asked.
"Yeah," I sighed.
"I ant believe you're leaving," Hailey said quietly. Hailey, Maria and Drew were coming with us.
"I'll be back in two years," I tried lightening the mood.
"That's so long!" Maria said.
"Hop in," Austin said after we put my luggage into the trunk of his car. I climbed in the passenger seat and he started driving off to the LAX airport.
Almost an hour later we were parking in the parking lot ad on our way to check my suitcase and backpack. We did that and went through security as waited at my gate. I got a Starbucks drink while we waited and we talking for a while because we were waiting so long. Finally, at noon, my plane arrived. People started boarding and I waited for my turn.
"I'm gonna miss you," Austin said when we were in line.
"I'll be back in two years, and this time for good," I said smiling.
"I'm so excited. I can't wait until you move here," he said smiling back.
"I just have to finish school then I'm on my way."
"Group B 1-30 now boarding," the announcer said.
"That's me," I said in a sigh.
"Have a good flight," Austin said sadly.
"Thanks, I'll call you when I land," I said hugging him.
"Bye Chlo," Maria and Hailey said holding their arms for me. I wrapped them in a huge hug.
"I can't wait to see you guys again," I said pulling away.
"What about me?" Drew joked.
"Eh, I might miss you," I joked back. He scowled and I laughed before hugging him.
"You better," he said holding me tighter. I laughed and opened my eyes, looking over his shoulder. As soon as I did I regretted it.
There were three people walking towards us, well actually two. The other was running. But the most surprising thing was who the people were. Keaton, Lynn and Wes.
"Oh my god," I said pushing off Drew. He looked where I was looking in confusion and then broke out in a grin.
"Oh look, it's your Prince Charming," he said smirking. I rolled my eyes at him before walking to Wes's direction.
I pushed through all the people in my way and ended up running through the people until I ended up in a clearing. I looked around but couldn't see him anywhere anymore. I slumped my shoulders and turned around to walk back to my gate when I ran into someone's chest.
"Chloe?"
I looked up and stared into the familiar chocolate brown eyes that I had grown so used to. He smirked and wrapped his arms around me, the most friendliest thing he's done to me for over two months.
"Wes," I whispered, wrapping my arms around my neck. I felt him sigh against my neck and hold my tighter.
I don't know how long we stood there just holding each other. At some time someone announced the boarding of B 1-30 again for my gate. I pulled away from him reluctantly and looked up at him.
"Do you have to go?" He asked me now sad.
"Yeah," I said sadly back.
"So this is goodbye? Forever?" He asked. He almost looked like he was going to cry.
"Until two years. I'm moving here for good when I'm done with school," I said half smiling.
"That's so long," Wes complained.
"I think you'll live," I joked.
"Only on one condition," he said, his stare boring into me.
"Yes?"
"One more kiss," he said smirking now.
"Uh, I don't know, that's a little difficult," I joked.
"Shut up," he said making both of us laugh. He pulled me closer and started leaning in towards me. I leaned up towards him and pressed my lips onto his. Our lips moved in synch until the last announcement for my group came on.
"I have to go," I whispered breathlessly.
"Ok," he whispered back.
"I'll see you in two years?"
"Meet me two years from now on August 20th, at the beach we had our first surf at together," he said seriously.
"It's a date," I said smiling. He smiled but then frowned.
"I'm going to miss you so much," he whispered.
"I'm gonna miss you more," I said smiling.
"Goodbye?"
"Goodbye."
I walked back to the gate sadly. When I got to everyone else they were talking to the flight attendant.
"Chloe, you have to board now!" Austin ushered me on.
"Alright, I'm going. Uh, bye guys. Love you all," I said blowing everyone a kiss. They waved back and I saw Wes wave to me in the distance. I smiled and waved back before boarding the plane so nobody could ask questions.
I couldn't wait until two years.
