Chapter Twenty-Three - Back
Chloe's POV
*2 years later*
I put my SnapBack on and smiled in my reflection, I look every California-ish. I was wearing a white muscle tee that had a smiley face on it but instead of the eyes there was L and A for L.A., denim shorts, black Vans and a blue plaid shirt tied at my waist with a black SnapBack on that said obey.
"Chloe, you're rides here!" My mom yelled from downstairs. I smiled and ran downstairs with my two suitcases and my backpack. I met my aunt by her car and put my bags in the truck. Then I turned to my family to say goodbye.
"Bye Chloe!" Jacob said hugging me.
"Bye Jacob, I'll see you when I visit ok?"
"Ok."
"Bye mom, bye dad," I said pulling my mom and dad into a big group hug.
"You'll visit soon right?" My mom asked me.
"Yeah, of course," I said pulling away. I waved one last time before getting into my aunts car.
"You ready?" She asked me.
"Yup," I said happily.
She started driving to the Miami airport. It only took us a half an hour to get there. We went through security and got to my gate as soon as they started boarding my group. I said goodbye to my aunt and boarded my plane.
Five hours later my plane landed in LAX. I got off the plane and grabbed my bags, walking out to the parking lot and looking for the familiar car I know as Austin's. I found him leaning up against it with the whole crew; Drew, Keaton, Tyler, Hailey, Lynn, Kora and Maria. I ran over to them and tackled the girls in a huge hug first.
"I missed you girls so much!" I said laughing.
"We missed you too," they said wrapping me in a group hug.
"What are we, chopped liver?" Keaton says behind us.
"You're not but Drew might be," I said teasingly.
"Oh, I see how it is now," Drew said turning around and crossing his arms. I laughed and jumped onto his back.
"Where's Wes?" I asked after I said hello to everyone.
"He's, uh... uhhhh..." Maria said awkwardly.
"He's what?"
"Well, he's-, umm, it's a surprise and it's really hard to explain it without giving the surprise away," she said.
"Oh, well I'm supposed to meet him somewhere."
"You are?"
"Yeah, when we said goodbye last he told me to meet him at the beach where we all surfed for the first time together at sunset," I said, receiving a couple 'awwww's' from the girls.
"Well what are we waiting for, your Prince Charming awaits!" Drew said dramatically.
"Where have I heard that before?" I joked.
"You've gotten awfully bitchy," he said scowling at me.
"I guess a summer with you wears off," I shrugged. He stuck his tongue out me like a little kid and we all got into Austin's car.
When we got back to Austin's house I put all my bags up in the room I spent my summer in two years ago. After I was done unpacking I looked outside and saw that it was almost sunset. I started getting anxious and nervous at the same time.
Part of me was anxious to see him since I haven't seen him for so long. The other part was nervous because of my insecurities. Wes was freaking gorgeous, it wouldn't be surprising I he's had a few girlfriends since I left.
"Chloe, it's the sunset!" Maria yelled through my door.
"I'm going!" I yelled back running out.
I ran downstairs and said bye to everyone before running across the street to the beach I first surfed on with Wes, Hailey and Drew. It felt good to be back here, where I met some of my best friends.
Waiting for Wes made me start thinking about my feelings for him. It hurt so bad to leave him, and I thought about him every single day. It was almost impossible to get him out of my mind. I couldn't stop thinking about him.
I realized that I've never felt these feeling before about anybody. I was confused at first but then realized that this could possibly my first 'love'. The first person I fell in love with, in other words. But I didn't have any more time to think about it because someone tapped on my shoulder.
I turned around to a tall, muscular figure. I couldn't see his face because it was so dark out, but he was crouching down close to me so I could see the familiar curls stick out of his SnapBack and the familiar chiseled jawline that took me so long to get used to.
"Wes?" I whispered.
"Chloe?" He whispered back.
"Oh my god, it is you." I reached out behind me and wrapped my whole body around him, holding onto him tightly. He wrapped his arms around my shoulders and squeezed me to death in the biggest hug possible.
"You came," he whispered.
"Of course I came, why wouldn't i?" I asked pulling away.
"I was just wondering what I would so if you didn't," he said.
"What would you do if I didn't?"
"Nothing, I wouldn't be able to live because I love you," he said looking into my eyes. I was speechless for a second until I found the right words.
"I love you too," I whispered.
"You do?"
"Yeah, I really do."
"Good," he said making both of us laugh. He pulled me into his lap and held onto me.
"So what now?" I asked him.
"What do you mean?" He asked me.
"What are we?"
"We're together... right?" He asked almost scared.
"Yes, we are," I said smiling. I leaned up and kissed him softly, pouring everything I had into it.
"Chloe?" He said when I pulled away.
"Yeah?"
"This time I'm not letting you go."
